want to use it to design a backdrop for the veterans affair department.

i cant seem to find any good picture. most are too small for the backdrop and will be blurry when printed on huge canvas.

if anybody here has these pictures could u post them here or link them to me.

i can see that Bashar's forces getting more and more overruned by FSA..does the pro-kurdish forces there siding with FSA or what? and why Syrian Army did not fully utilize its airforce..last time i checked in wiki, there's 75-90 Mig-29, over 120++ ground-attack capable aircraft and about 70 Mi-24 'Hind' before the civil war occurs..i'm amazed with FSA though..first started with only 1000 troops..now have gathered about 50,000 fighters after just a few months..

They are fighting together against the regime but not jointly with FSA.....there are groups within FSA that are backed by the Turkish....Turkey is pressing on the Syrian opposition to exert pressure on Kurds

Several countries interested in buying ex-Spanish Navy Aircraft Carrier Principe de Asturias

According to rumors that emerged recently in the Spanish press, the Philippines as well as several Arab countries have expressed interest in purchasing the former Spanish Navy Aircraft Carrier Principe de Asturias. In case of a sale, the contract would include refit and upgrading of the vessel by Spanish shipyard Navantia.

It is reported that Indonesia already expressed interest in the vessel earlier this year. Following an official visit by TNI AL (Indonesian Navy) delegation to the El Ferrol naval base however, Indonesia decided not to purchase the aircraft carrier.

Principe de Asturias was officially decommissioned in February 2013, with the initial intention to dismantle it for scrap. However this initial plan changed when Spanish Ministry of Defense reportedly received several requests for the aircraft carrier from several countries. Spanish Navy confirmed that there are potential buyers, but has yet to materialize any sales transaction.

to get a fully functional aircraft carrier, u need an adequate carrier battle group consist of jet fighters, helos, frigates, support ship, LPD, & subs..dun forget also operation & maintenance cost for the group, not just the carrier..& almost all SEA (even singapore) nations lack of that..learn from thailand

so, we shouldnt berangan to get aircraft carrier, at least not for another 50 years

Navy Officially Welcomes HTMS Ang Thong to Fleet

Thailand’s first ship of this kind was built in Singapore at a cost of 4.94 billion baht.
The navy plans to order more ships of the same type, because it decommissioned five old auxiliary vessels.

CHON BURI : The navy officially received its new landing platform dock ship, HTMS Ang Thong,
at Laem Thien port at Sattahip naval base yesterday.

HTMS Ang Thong is Thailand's first ship of this kind. It was built in Singapore at a cost of 4.94 billion baht.

Royal Thai Fleet commander Kanat Thongpoon said buying HTMS Ang Thong was worthwhile as it
had a displacement of 7,600 tonnes and could carry up to 360 personnel for landing operations and 30 administrative officers.

It will be deployed during the US-Thai Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (Carat) exercise next month and on a
peace-keeping mission together with HTMSSimilan to tackle Somali pirates next year.

According to Adm Kanat, HTMSAng Thong is also suitable for rescue missions because it has a sick bay,
a minor operation room and a dentist room and has doctors on board.

The navy needs more landing ships, of this type he said. It has decommissioned five old auxiliary vessels and
HTMS Ang Thong is the only replacement so far. The navy plans to order more ships of the same type.

According to HTMS Ang Thong commander Teerasan Khongman, the new landing craft has a well dock to conveniently
launch tanks and boats. It can carry four landing craft with vehicles and personnel.

Also welcomed at the ceremony yesterday were the ship's crew numbering about 150 officers and men.

HTMS Ang Thong's crew members started training on the ship in Singapore two months ago and they will be ready
for drills next month. In the Carat exercise, the ship will be used to receive and launch helicopters and amphibious assault vehicles.

it will improve their night fighting capabilities somewhat

i'm not joking. you can't shoot shiz if you can't see your enemy (besides 1 military grade nvg can buy you like 100 of these lamps)

Looks like a good head shot target to me. Those torches are for short distance and would not replace a nvg.

i think Phillipine tgh terdesak sgt nk tunjuk power kt Taiwan and China tuh..i prefer submarines rather than aircraft carriers though..this Spain carrier can carry modern naval aircraft like F-18? dun want to be like Thai navy, carrier too small, can only carry V/STOL aircraft..harrier is obsolete nowadays..while F-35 is goddamn expensive..

they can't even get their shyt together

granted they really need a large amphibious vessel to carry marines and equipments to one of it's isles, but still there's tons of cheaper alternatives out there.

The very reason they retire the aircraft is due to high operation cost than a C-130 hercules,
sure they want that?

The Dutch firm DSM Dyneema has been chosen as the supplier of materials for spall liners of AV-8 wheeled armoured vehicles purchased by the Malaysian Ministry of Defence.

AV-8 is the local designation of Pars (Anatolian Leopard) 8×8 amphibious variant from the Turkish armoured vehicles specialist FNSS Savunma Sistemleri, a joint venture between BAE Systems Land & Armaments of the United States and the Turkish conglomerate Nurol. For the vehicles intended to equip the Royal Malaysian Army, FNSS Savunma Sistemleri has established a partnership with the Malaysian company DRB-HICOM Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd (DEFTECH).

A total of 267 vehicles of 12 versions will be delivered between 2013 and 2018. As part of the contract, DSM Dyneema will supply the company´s Dyneema BT10 ballistic protection material for the production of the vehicle´s spall liners.

Spall liners protect vehicle occupants from high-velocity fragments that are created when, for example, explosive shells send shock waves through the vehicle’s metal armor.

if they get it free then why not? besides it's slightly larger than CN-235 and has part commonality with C-130. less logistic headache
