even their "brand new" aircraft carrier (actually ex-kiev class "aircraft-carrying cruiser") was marred with delays and problems(they let russians to do them upgrade instead of doing it on their own,like china did with liaoning). now their "local made" aircraft carrier is floated (still has no island), some just waits for them problem to surface

China has also started building their own aircraft carrier to supplement liaoning. but right now they're focusing on replacing the bulk of soviet-era destroyers and frigates and to counter Japan and SK Aegis-capable destroyers,thus the project gets lower level priority (it's there,but don't expect it to be completed soon)

I prefer malaysia going for type 10 mbt.

I believe that SEA nations have both defensive and offensive battle plans drawn up against one another. the good thing is that SEA nations knew that the consequences of waging war against another doesnt not bode weel to anyone..

due to china i believe SEA strategy now will be about more coastline defense

Since china already had their carrier under testing which worried surrounding country more :/

But their carrier battle group is more towards rivaling the US 7th Fleet with JSDF Navy. I think SEA who are in conflict with China over Spratlys and Paracels has not fully upgraded their anti-ship capabilities, except us and the Vietnamese

that's why philippines are begging for more handouts from Unker US

they even want unker sam to station part of their pacific fleet.

the way i see right now sgpore, indo, vietnamese, thai all have better/superior navy than us, until we acquire the LCS in 2017

but we do have superior airforce compare to other SEA and on par with sgpore
