hi all, old member (Y480) reporting in - long time noooooo seeeeee.......

would like to know is there anyone here udgraded their warranty to 3 years? i use my lappy everyday, once in uni, once at home - with frequent opening and closing of the lid, would it make the hinge spoil faster? is the 3-yrs warranty worth it?

Start to love this laptop...make video and render it..VERY FAST...rendering in HD is fast and the quality as promised

My Y500 Idle get 65'c. Hot like shit.

Room airflow average. Aircon normal. Not very cold.

Any solutions ?

Did you use throttle stop?

I googled. Is it those application that will auto shut down ur pc if reach certain temp ?

Nope, is prevent throttle due high temperature (for example if CPU reach 8X degrees will throttle down to the lowest mhz).
Throttle stop also have a function called force multiplier which can force max turbo speed.

My question is did you enable "force multiplier" ?

Where to enable ?
I never oc or anything yet. Bios still in default.

Now actually running 3.1Ghz, 32x Multiplier, 99Mhz Bus, temperature at 60'c (only internet surfing)

never heard of Ergostand...most of the forumers here recommend notepal u2 for 14inch and notepal u3 for 15.6inch

Urm it also comes with single 750M, the standard version comes with DVD ultrabay
