Woah seems like everyone changed their rims here eh?

How often does your car overheat? Especially non-IAFM version, what could be the problem? I have repaired the radiator casing, changed the thermostat. On Monday morning drove all the way from Karak highway to KL, stopped by at the petrol station close to my home, got back up to the car, air cond felt warm and by the time I saw meter reached 120 the car stopped and steer locked.

Parked my car and let it cool down.
*
If your car has ever overheated due to some reasons like faulty fan or leaking radiator, the engine block or gasket of your engine has probably warped due to extreme heat. Even after you have fixed the earlier cause of overheating, the gasket will leak between combustion chamber and the water cooled section, effectively boiling the water when a bit of load is applied to the engine.

Never let your engine reach to the red point, the damage is permanent until you do a top overhaul to grind flat the block and replace gasket.

QUOTE(Fubar20 @ May 13 2013, 11:00 AM)
Nope. I disagree. I saw my meter jump slowly to between B and C when the time my radiator bocor.
*
By time the meter move, the coolant temperature is way over 100. Most drivers don't find enough time to notice the quick rate of meter increase, until when they saw it at the red section or until the engine seize.

Hey guys, need some suggestions. I'm planning to get a 2nd hand Persona, year 2008, Hi Line, because my mitsu waja was stolen on Sunday.

A have a few question:
1) Any serious problem that I should look out for?
2) Is the torque dip really that bad?
3) Fuel consumption average how much if 100 city drive?
4) Cornering at high speed ok ah?
5) What kind of not-so-serious mods can i do to it? (If only the engine is healthy)

Thanks alot everyone. biggrin.gif

1) No serious problems, except for Personas that have been in an accident. Use logic and avoid choosing cars with broken carplates front and back like my abah doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif.
2) Not too bad, but you have to rev over 2K RPM for acceptable acceleration from standstill.
3) If you have a rather heavy foot, check out my fuelly laugh.gif. Almost 100% city drive.
4) Extremely excellent. Makes other drivers who brake while cornering look sissy.
5) Better tyres, soundproofing, brighter light bulbs, front strut bar

Wow! RM0.30 per km?? Even my waja last time was doing RM0.22/km. Isn't abit high? Or is your foot very very heavy???

Persona doesn't come with rear ARB right?

I'll be going for the test drive on the 2nd hand unit later this week.

I think it comes with one front and back. You can say that my foot is like a concrete slab I suppose. I don't really hit the highway, and when I hit it's usually clear, so... brows.gif. I won't say the city FC is bad cause of my foot, but because of the short distance I travel daily (less than 5KM one way to my destination each day unless for lunch).
