How do I install the new drivers? When I download it and install it, it says that it cannot detect my hardware.

till now, the official driver is not compatible with alien gtx 780m. u hv to download 326.80 beta driver..

like previous new laptop releases, most of the times users will have to wait for a few months if not weeks before official drivers from geforce support it.

you have a few options:
1. install the beta drivers, like mirhan suggested;
2. get a working modded .inf file (s) to trick new drivers to install;
3. be patient and wait for the official supported versions; use the drivers from dell or your gpu providers temporarily (it's relatively old but it is guaranteed to work fine).

just to point out.. the modded driver a.k.a modded .inf is not as scary as it sound..
it is just adding a line of text in the .inf file so that the driver detect your graphic card as per in the "supported list"

yeah that's right it's not that scary. i think you should be able to find one at laptopvideo2go.com if i am not wrong.

however i am not familiar with what to change because when i checked the modded.inf, they are like in different files.

i got a m17x r2 after i format it and reinstall from my resource dvd for the command center and OSD application than will come out error about "microsoft.net" problem. and my laptop keypad light cant turn on, command center cant detect my keyboard also, but it can detect my Tactx keyboard. anyone can help?

command center needs ms .net framework 3.5. install that first.

what horns mentioned is the exact problem. You can google framework and download it from microsoft website for free. Grats on ur new buy You won't be disappointed. If temperatures are a bit high seeing and assuming it's an old R2 i would suggest thermal compound re-pasting. (y)

So good. Everyone's having fun with their laptop. I have to wait till Thursday to get mine. Damn sad. No stock on GPU initially, then after that was resolved, free backpack no stock. Damn bad luck.

Nope. Their side says need to send the laptop with the backpack together. They say it is protocol.

As compensation, they gave me a tactx mouse. I'll be selling it when it arrives and along with some other peripherals.

Which backpack? If u r referring to the alienware backpack, then yes. That backpack arrived first. The backpack I'm talking about is the free one which is included with the laptop, the Targus one.

aren't you suppose to get the alienware bagpack? or they r giving you a free targus too?

By default when u purchase any Alienware laptop, u'll get the targus backpack for free. The Alienware backpack is purchased separately.

To answer your question, I'll be getting both Targus and Vindicator backpack. Targus is free, the Vindicator is my own money.

in before that, any purchase of Alienware 17 models comes with free Vindicator backpack.

Well, at the time that I ordered mine, which is before the fuel increase, it is already like that. I haven't seen any conditions stating that AW 17 comes with a free Vindicator backpack. When did this happen actually?

cant recall when but i remember when i got one of their retailer's flyers, they state that any AW 17 purchase will free a vindicator backpack.

perhaps due to that they are running a fair that time, as im working at low yat in the time being.
