So what is it when i bought an s3... The imei in the phone, on the back of the s3, and on the box is same, but i cant register it on samsung online warranty?
It already been registered to someone else...

I have 5 times in past 4 years. And each time warranty honour n I got free service. I have replace motherboard, replace battery, sim module, usb port . One time tablet even booting up with yellow triangle. I dont think I am the only user n quite several similar too. Note2 many users got motherboard replace foc due to hardbrick failed flashing
Depends how you present your case . Be polite n dont condemn the phone. I m honest n always tell them phone is rooted first. However be mentally prepared warranty is always void . Try your luck claiming.

weird... my wife's s3 build number ends with I9300XXEMA2

got the update prompt last night. hopefully this fixes the alarm bug. another weird thing... firmware dun even mention anything like performance improvement, stability, etc... just say sth like got update... install?

Samsung should look at Asus... Asus details their changes on their website.

You bought new set and it was registered? Maybe someone wanted to buy it but after the vendor registered, the buyer changed his mind. Last time I bought my Galaxy Ace, realized it was registered a week before (the seller sunnychai said it's new set, ban his shop already). But as long as it's registered, it doesn't matter, SC only checks for registration status and period and doesn't care about owner, unlike HTC.

How much now? RM1200 new?

My wife galaxy mini 2 unrooted phone automatically upgraded play store to version 4.0.26
My rooted S3 with latest Malaysia stock firmware play store still at 3.10.14.

The Question is:
The play store upgrade for S3 is not implemented yet or because of my S3 is rooted I have upgrade it manually?

my phone is working. there's no problem with the motherboard. but there's problem with the button and screen. so i just want to change my screen, but i don't want to go through all the trouble of unrooting and reset everything again.
but i guess i will just unroot it before sending it in

Since your phone is rooted, backup all your stuffs using Titanium Backup ; SMS with SMS Backup & Restore. If you have whatsapp - copy the whatsapp folder to external SDcard. Or just Copy all your 3rd party stuffs in the viewable internal memory to PC and just copy back everything incase your stuffs get wipe off. You can take it another step further and flash back a stock rom using Odin in PC . Clean the flash counter if you have with triangleaway app before flashing the stock rom
Yes is troublesome - that is why I had never bother as I am ready to pay if so need to . I was told even going through these steps, if the tech wish to void warranty , he can still detect all these root/flashing in the hidden files in the phone. But I was so lucky the past several times that warranty was given FOC

Tried MIUI v5 (MIUIAndroid 3.4.19) last night. Looks absolutely gorgeous! But, still lags a bit here and there, especially when opening folders. Will give it more time to mature and try again one month later. Now back to ARHD 25.0.
