QUOTE(sotong4896 @ May 30 2006, 01:46 PM) Sotong... if u check macnn forums or etc, wat they say is the heat's frm the processor... probable cause is the thermal paste they apply on the processor... may be too much of paste on the processors adi... dunno bout the battery wor... but historically, macs do run abit hotter wan rite? |

That's if we run it in the ever-hot-and-humid Malaysia, in cold countries or during winter like where I am now, it's damn good a warm plate to heat up my cold palms

This is running away from the curren topic a lil, but does anyone know the type of RAM that's in the MacBook..? A UK site that sells RAM online suggests the:
DDR2 PC2-5300 . CL=5 . UNBUFFERED . NON-ECC . DDR2-667 . 1.8V . 128Meg x 64 (whatever that means. but thats going for 120pounds for 1 stick of 1Gig.. I checked with MacAsia in regards to "up-ing" the RAM from the standard 2 sticks of 256 (512) to 1Gig (2 sticks of 512) and the cost is just shy of RM1,000..! Is the RAM specs (PC2-5300) vital to the MacBook..? or can i get a lower spec RAM (PC2-4200 or 3200) and not ruin the MacBook...? Any thoughts on that? Also, if anyone has a price quote, that would be great too... |

you can get lower specs..But it might make your Mac slower or weird..seriously..I dont know why...You might get Kernel Pancis ...etc...In theory its possible
You can get cheap RAMs from UK..If you diy..there are many stores..Just pick a copy of MacWorld Plus or MacWorld , and see it for yourself |

The question : can you afford or not.....?
I would rather take 12 months installment plan and upgrade the ram by myself ! |
