The only person I look for there is Walter, very helpful guy, all the others there are pretty us*less. One of them wanted to charge me RM100 just to help me swap my hard drive out from my Macbook. I was just asking anyway.

And I was trying to get a non-Mac laptop!

Is the hard drive new? Unformatted? Have you tried running Disk Utility? (in Applications -> Utilities) The hard disc is kinda new. I formatted it using Partition Magic 8.0 in Windows. I ran disk utility but it isn't listed. The only way i can access it is using parallel desktop with Windows... But i prefer to access it directly from MAC. Any help please? =X

Yea you can send to Low Yat Macstudio for servicing, but you are taking additional risk of having the notebook pass through another set of hands. While they do take a lot of care on it, but still, just additional risk. I did send my there before, they wrap it up nicely but I guess some minor scratches are unavoidable.

Don't send it to MacStudio in LYP (or Machines or MacAsia for that matter). They are Resellers. You want a Service Provider. Hence: my choice would be VR Tech. Known those guys since before they VSSed out of Sapura. They're the only ones I would trust with my Macs (although I buy from anyone: service is a whole other matter). Pricing would of course depend on your warranty status and what is wrong/needs to be replaced. This post has been edited by MacDaNife: Jul 21 2007, 07:42 PM

I just saw this on Dell's website, they claim their XPS M1330 to be the world's thinnest 13.3 inch notebook. I was sceptical about it, so I searched for it's specs and found out that IT IS thinner than the Macbook, in a way cause this is the XPS's spec:- QUOTE Weight: Starting at 1.79 kg6 Width: 31.8cm Height: 2.21cm - 3.38cm Depth: 23.8cm Macbooks are 2.75cm thick. So in a way it is thinner than the Macbook, on one end that is! Haha.. But if averaged out, 2.21+3.38/2 = 2.795cm. It's thicker than the Macbook This post has been edited by civic98: Jul 22 2007, 05:26 PM Attached thumbnail(s)

hehe. sry On a more serious note, it really depends on the promotion. I bought my Macbook at the last PC Fair, it came with an iPod Shuffle, a laptop sleeve and a wireless mighty mouse. I don't think there is any promotions currently...
