i just bought macbook few days back, should i regret it??coz maybe d promo for mac will come.n anyone know is mac will release new macbook this year?

Of COURSE you should regret it. Computers will ALWAYS be more powerful/cheaper/be bundled with better stuff next week/month/year if not tomorrow. You really should have invested in landed property, mutual funds or forex. Heck, even Bursa Saham has a better chance of an appreciating investment than your MacBook.

Question is...

What will you achieve with your MacBook while it is in your posession? Will you educate yourself? Write an award winning composition? Do a knock-thier-socks-off presentation? In short: will you be productive in the time you have with the machine?

I've bought a LOT of computer hardware. I'd like to think it was an investment that has more than paid for itself. Many times over.

regret? Maybe only the next os, leopard. By oct, leopard will release. So you need to fork out some cash to get it unless you don't plan to use the next os. Anyway, right now you got your mb, sure just play with it la. Don't worry about those "regret" biggrin.gif

Hi, you can do ALL that you mentioned, without worrying about the heat issue, though it would be advisable to put it on a notebook cooler.

As a matter of fact, I have my Macbook on 24 hours, downloading torrents all day long, listening to radio & iTunes, MSN, iChat, watching movies, browsing internet etc.

As for torrents, I'm using Transmission. Do a search, you'll find many other torrent softwares for Mac OSX.

Thanx for the explanation. One more thing forgot to ask. Does VPN work well with mac ?

Just got my Macbook yesterday. Its been great so far, straight away used iPhoto to edit my pictures.

Picasa seems better but it could be I am not used to it yet. Now to look for a torrent program that works with my VPN service provider.

If you need to run MS DOS then why would you want to get a mac?

Why try to fit a square peg into a round hole?

How do you double click to open an app? What I do is right click then choose open. Can't I like just double click it to launch the app?

Erm, you can.

If you are using the trackpad, try going to the settings and set the double click speed to be slower. Then it is better.

Not too sure but from the reviews I read, you can't upgrade the combo drive to the Superdrive. Therefore, if you want a DVD burner, either go external or fork out more for the 2.16GHz version.

Haha.. Everything is worth its price, the question should be whether you need it or not, and what is your intended use for it. But then again, if you already planned to get it, why question it? Hehe..

How in the world is anyone supposed to answer this question for you?

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the worthiness of a computer depends on what you intend to do with it (and therefore how useful it is to you) versus how much it costs (and therefore how much you can afford).

If you don't supply more information on the above what replies can you expect? A fanboy "Sure man, it Rocks!" would be the most likely.
