For an elective surgery, I'm perplexed that people are even considering trading a better vision for RM3000.
If I were you, I'd save up a little bit more.

I'm not saying that the cheaper package is no good.
It's the considering after knowing that it will probably leave you with the "lesser" eye that bothers me.

However, if any research proves that there is no significant difference, then by all means, go for the cheaper package. I know I will.
Think about it smile.gif

totally agree.
should just go for the better package and settle it once and for all. but of course, money is an issue.
and i thought after so many years the prices should have dropped already. still so expensive.

Hi guys... It has been almost 2 mths since I did my LASIK at advance vision.

Eyesight has increased significantly but vision under dark or dimmed light is still not as good as I was wearing glasses.

Few weeks ago dr yeoh told me to wait after 6 mths. Then will decide whether I need enhancement surgery or not.

So far so good... Dry eyes problem is nil when I don't look at computers. If I do, eyes easily get tired.

Anyway, I am happy overall. If I would have to decide again, LASIK it is.

Added on June 24, 2012, 1:12 amFor those who wanted to go for LASIK, make sure your vision is stable for at least a year or two.

Else you may just have to do lasik again after few years.
*
hi. what do you mean by "vision is stable"? i'm quite new in this area and am researching about LASIK.
currently my power is around 750 to 850.

Did mine about 2 weeks ago.
Fully customized, even though my cornea thickness is normal

last check,
left eye -.25
right eye -.25

prior to surgery
left eye -5.5
right eye -7

still a little bit of glare at night with bright lights.. but other than that, no problem !

the full eye test cost only Rm 115 if you get the referral letter from the optimax authorized partner, if you dont know where to get, just let me know. I can ask them to fax in for u, so they wont need to pos to u also. fully customized laser lasik only rm 3750 each eye, my cousin did his and pay with easy payment, interest free.

yup, his eyes power quite high, -12.50 with moderate astig and -14.75 with lower astig. less than 2 weeks now but vision is great for him, just eyes are quite dry, rely a lot on naturale tears.

I havent got it done, still waiting for sponsor, wakakaka

i think it was RM60 for the first eye check. Then if it seems suitable you need to go about 2 weeks or so without your contact lens and have a second eye check (can't remember how much, through)

I opted for fully customised, so a little bit more expensive. . about 7.8k for both eyes. I think the cheaper option is about 3k per eye. But what I liked about it was that the post op/after care/eye drops etc is free for 1 year and they provide an after hours emergency phone number if you need to call. You can opt to pay in interest free instalment.

A bit expensive, but I consider it fully worth it .. cos before this when i wake up in the morning without my specs i am blind !!!! If I travel and rub my eye, contact fall out, also blind !
And consider over the past 10 years, the amount I have paid for glasses/contact lens/solution .....

haha ... same for me.. i run and swim, so it really sucks when cannot see.
if you're genuinely interested there is no harm with just going for the initial assessment and talking to the doc.. don't have to make the decision straight away

1 month before can swim/sauna/steam room
they told me to avoid contact sports for 1 week..
for running i think it should be okay to go once your eyes are comfortable, just wear a headband or something to keep the sweat from going into your eyes.
By middle of week 1 i was back in yoga.

3 weeks post surgery
left eye: 0
right eye: astig .25

eye dryness is much much better, not dependent on eye drops anymore
