i honestly don't think there's any difference.. i believe all surgeons are trying their best for 100% successful operation.. as for followup checkups, they're usually done by other staffs, not the surgeon/doctor itself, except for the 1st day after operation only..

okok thanks a lot ya navilink ^^!!!

hello guy~~ male here.. undergo optimax lasik .. my eye totally heal already... i did it las year somehwere between april to may.. at 1st so many complication .. dry eye ... hard to see at night.. the most irritating thing is everyday i woke up and i hav to put the eye drop.. i been putting a year and i think i would have to rely on the eyedrop forever .... i am so sad by then but recently in this year .. i found out my eye cure 100% already.. i can do anything i want.......my right dominant eye 100% cure with 0 power and 0 astigmatism but my left non dominant eye is 0 power 50 astigmatism.  and its good till i cant even notice the difference.      my advice.. dont ever hoping for 100% on non dominant eye... tongue.gif

Thanks for ur wishes, Lucas. Ya i'm doin the all-laser-lasik custom. its RM4,000 per eye. They have something like referral program, meaning you could get discount (RM150 per eye) if you have someone / friends to introduce you to the center whereby providing their full name & hp number.

icic, same with the price that i will be doing all-laser-lasik at Optimax Sunway then, because i heard my friends say different branches may offer different prices due to different surgeon.....my appointment date will be on 5th July due to i am busy with my exams now!! Update to us after 2 days of ur lasik!! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

Good luck!
Tell us your experience when you get better.

Ermmm already 2 days after my lasik surgery, everything is fine, just that glares and halos r still there during night which is normal... during operation, u won't feel any slight of pain, the most is only pressure on ur eyes when the doctor r creating the flap.. After 2-3 hours from ur operation, u will feel great irritation which makes ur eyes cnt really open and tears keep flowing out, so is better to straight to back to ur home and rest after ur operation.... After that, everything is fine ^^

8 days. The adjusting of near and at distance is annoying me. Doc confirms my eyes are healthy. Just that it may take slightly longer to get it up and running like before..once awhile, things get clearer...and at times it get blurry. I was told it's normal as the eyes are getting to adjust to it....

Night glare is still there. Sometimes better and sometimes worse...
*
Chill chill, since doctor has confirmed about it, nothing to worry then, things will get better, i feel the things blurry especially under dimmed light only and for short distance things.... Dry eyes for u okay?? any trouble?

before u go for lasik, it is important that u know that is ur power of short-sightedness stable for at least a year? if yes, normally means it will not go up anymore or mayb plus minus 25 power, only then u r a good candidate for doing lasik. After lasik, normal lifestyle won't really cause the short-sightedness to come back, if u r facing computer for abnormal long hours and u still hope ur eyes r okay with it, then dun go for lasik, i guess it will has a great chance to have short-sighted back.... As for dry eyes, it is common for every1 who has done lasik, surgeon will advise u to put on eye drops like every 2 hours except while sleeping smile.gif... and the dry eyes situation will slowly get better after a period of time... For my case, the 1st week check-up after my lasik, yes optometrist said my eyes was a bit dry, but then a month later for next check-up, everything is in good condition already ^^.. Hope this will help you

dear all, just want to double confirm, even after LASIK, short sighted issue might return right? it's very subjective depending on individual, and eyes gets dry faster compared to original right?

planning to go for it, but worried about the effects of it, like the actual issue before LASIK coming back years after sad.gif

hey, guys just wanna ask how long is the recovery period eh? and is it normal to feel some pain after the surgery? my sis done her lasik this morning. and I feel worried about her.
*
the 3-4 hours after surgery, u will feel irritating on ur eyes...After that everything will be ok, but ur vision is nt completely back to normal yet...it takes time for ur eye sight to be improved, but u can see things clearly without spec after a day already ^^

just to update my status, this afternoon went to TTDI do eye examination, told that right eye only can do epi-lasik, left eye either full laser or epi-lasik.

Did a mistake, should bought a sunglasses, which i forgot, surfering when i come out from the place, and i need to drive home somemore.

bought a new sunglasses imediately after i reach home, also can use after i done the surgery.

Will have fix a date with them to do the surgery, just that still cant decide on my left eye surgery method.

and i heard the epi-lasik is quite pain, anyone experienced before ? maybe can share their thoughts....
*
since left eye can go for normal lasik, why dun choose for lasik then? ya i heard epi-lasik take more time to recover while going thru normal lasik jz take 1 day then u can do ur daily activity already

this tread is cool, still active after 6 years!
and it tooks me 2 days to finish all 1-42 pages!
the conclusion i get is:
first, check ur eye condition pre-op to choose which method suitable.
second:
basically there are 2 main corrective surgery:
one is the lasik, where they open flap and do lasik.
recovery within days.
suitable for thick cornea,
the cons: its has higher risk for contact sport
there are two: one is using blade/keratome. one is without blade- full lasik. and of course beside those two, there is one customized which is more expensive and more suitable for extreme high myopia and other special circumstances

while the other is lasek.
in this case they dont open but scratch,
so recovery time takes longer - few weeks to months
suitable for thin cornea
its more suitable for those who like extreme sport
there is one type of lasek where you need to use contact lens for days after this surgery.

oh, thats what i understand after staring at this forum and other web for hours...CMIIW

hhmmm...my dad who ask me to do lasik
as my brother did before , 7 years ago (i guess he took the lasek procedure, coz he said it took 2 weeks to see properly, 3 months for full recovery)
he is totally fine now, no complication n so on.

but my mom said lasik not necesary, n since it takes time to heal, gota hv to sacrifice other activities to do..
hhmmm..both oso true..still duno what to decide
*
nice summary~~ cool man

After 6 months from custom all laser lasik from optimax, went to check up yesterday~~ Everything is good and i was told that i still have a thick cornea during the check up~~ there is no more short-sightedness but abt 25 power for astigmatism in my left eye~~
Before lasik, right eye power 650 and left eye power 725 and 50 astigmatism tongue.gif

my eyes are -7.5 and -8.0 respectively with astig. i play contact sports, train almost daily. how is the recovery period like? currently on contact lens. thanks!
*
for my case, after 1 day, you can see things 80%-90% clearly already and you are allowed to drive too, but for contact sports if i am not mistaken, u should rest for a month right after the lasik treatment
