Yes, u can do the rest of the follow up in the country u live in, just make sure u get the full details of pre and post op from the lasik centre, and a referral letter to show the follow up dr.

hi, there is no more further discount for optimax. if u prefer to consult a great corneal specialist, then i strongly recommend u to seek dr Ainur's opinion in ara damansara medical centre eye clinic. then u can decide where u want to do the lasik.

How is your overall experience so far?

Quite good. Optimax is clean and quiet, feel very relaxed and safe to go do treatment there. They explain step by step, once you pay the total no need to pay anything extra, all the meds and follow up free for a year. Going for my 3-month post check up soon, eyesight has stabilized and dry eyes also improved a lot. Very happy with my choice.

Hi all, just after some opinions and yes I've been through the thread for info. I live overseas and will be back for a month later this year. Looking at either TransPRK or Smile but unsure at this stage as I'm unable to commit to all the post-procedure checkups (both have at least a follow up 2 months after procedure).

I'm looking to do it here as it's very cheap (at least compared to where I live). Is it okay if I cannot commit to all the post-op consultations apart from the ones within a month from procedure?

Thanks 🙏

PRK requires more after-care. I was initially planning to do PRK but unless you're in to extreme contact sports, no real reason to choose this. I wanted PRK originally because studies show long-term, it is better for pts with astig, but I did femto-lasik instead which is just as effective. Smile wasn't suitable for me.

You need to do the 1 day, 1 week, 1 month follow up as that tends to be most crucial afaik.Plus if you skip those, you void your lifetime guarantee

Aside from the usual benefits LASIK brings, does it last? Have heard that you may need follow up surgery after 10+ years or so.

About 2 months to go before I fly back and I've seen a few places that offer ReLEx SMILE. Just want to know if anyone has experience with the less popular providers such as Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital, KPJ Centre for Sight and Sunway Eye Centre?

The ones regularly mentioned here seem to be Optimax or Ikonik (Dy Muhaya)

PS: Freaking glad that quarantine has been scrapped so procedure can happen earlier than expenced. smile.gif

Hi everyone, I hope my message can help. I'm a silent reader and have been following this topic for years (about 6/7). I've been contemplating doing LASIK & I have been wearing glasses for close to 30years now.

Special thanks to “Jialat” & this forum for honest opinion & feedback. I’ve decided to go see Dr Ainur for a proper evaluation. Dr Ainur, is a wonderful doctor, super detailed & so comfortable to deal with.

Thank god, I went to see him. I'm not suitable for LASIK as I have abnormal cornea. Possibility of Keratoconus. We will be monitoring my conditions for a year and hopefully, it is stable to do ICL.

If I’m on an impulse to go ahead with LASIK centre, I might just put myself at risk & go blind.

So please don’t save the money, go see Dr Ainur get a proper review. You only have one pair of eyes.

You are welcome.

Many members have pmed me for the Lasik cost under Dr Ainur.

He does 2 types of Lasik, and also ICL.

Standard femto Lasik RM 5000 for 2 eyes

Custom femto Lasik RM 7500 for 2 eyes

Only ICL is suitable for my conditions. I can't perform now, need to evaluate/monitor the eyes for at least 1 year to ensure no major changes. My next visit will be in September 2022 and March 2023.

So from this post, you can see that Dr. Ainur is in no hurry to operate on the eyes unless he is absolutely clear that it is safe.

Hi all. I've been reading this thread for 3-4 years now. This year my urge to get lasik has peaked plus I've saved enough money. Just wondering, my eyes power are still increasing eventho I'm 30yo... I have had to change specs every 1-2 years. Last time I changed was 2020 and now my vision has become blurry again. What are my chances for surgery?

Hi there, I change my glasses on a yearly basis. TBH power increased slightly at times and sometimes doesn't. As for the chances, is best for you to get evaluated by qualified doctors. I would recon to go to Dr. Ainur to get it checked out. Oh, remember to wait for our SiFu Jialat feedback eh.

If your eye power / refractive error still unstable, then better postpone till 1-2 years no changes first.

Eye power at Age 30 should have been stabilized and seldom change, but i have noticed many experiencing power increase after started working at home and online study, due to long hours facing the digital screen.

Been considering this for a while.

I don't mind one eyes RM10000 but, i scare fail then i will be blind.

If i do 1 eyes first then only proceed the second eyes if succeed can or not?
