my power is very high around 550 for both so i believe lasik surgery can't do.

U are not a suitable candidate for refractive surgery if scare. just stick to glasses.

Erm, I just came across this thread as I'm interested in lasik surgery. Here are some of the questions that I would like to ask:

1. How long does the recovery take if we happen to have femto lasik surgery?

2. A lot of youtubers kept promoting relex smile, however I saw some replies here saying that relex smile is more prone to problems, is that the case? CX I'm kinda attracted by relex smile. They said relex smile recovers quicker, smaller incision etc etc.

And finally..... Any eye specialist/hospital/ophthalmologist to recommend? I am from Sarawak btw...

Full recovery 3-6 months but you can already see about 80-90% in a week.

you mean i won't be able to see 100% until after 3 months? i also using reading glasses due to age factor. expensive or not to do for both short and far sighted? my main concern is i can't see far.

Everyone's recovery is different, some may be able to in a month's time, some later. That said, even if not 100% I can still see 90+% right now although slightly blurry because I know my eyes are still healing. Not sure if anyone can give assurance if after the surgery is guarantee to get 20/20 vision so we have to be realistic about what we are hoping to achieve.

I did mine at Oasiseye Specialist for RM3400 (got RM100/eye as nearby tenant). Ori price is RM3600 for both eyes. My myopia are -4.75 & -5.25 respectively and had mono vision correction due to my age.

Whether or not you're suitable for this procedure, have to go for eye examination ya.

hi, different centre use different brand of lasik equipment, and each doctor got own preference on calculation for prescription.

chances are u need to redo same test but using that clinic equipment unless all same brands.

Hi all sifus, I have recently made the decision that I do not want to wear my glasses anymore after 20+ years.

I have called up chew eye clinic based in Ipoh. The PIC for LASIK told me that I can come do a test in the morning and if I decided to go ahead with the surgery then I can do it the same day in afternoon. (she suggested this because I said I'm not staying in ipoh)

I just wanna ask anyone done the eye examination and Lasik on the SAME DAY?!

Personally I'm a bit skeptical because I thought after the eye examination your vision will become blur and that u need to rest. Google search doesn't yield much examples of this mostly articles I read said next day appointment.

Can anyone enlighten me if you have any experience?

Hi, I did my eye examination + RELAX SMILE at Optimax TTDI on the same day 3 months ago, my vision now is almost perfect, still got a bit blur when driving at night, blur as in I can't really tell whats the number plate of the car around 3 to 4 car distance from me, but can see road and car no problem (last eye check on last Saturday, left eye power 25, right eye 0, both eye has a little bit of astig left). My power before my surgery was around 500++ both eye (forgot how much astig but quite high as well).
AFAIK, for RELAX SMILE we can do it on the same day, but for Femto LASIK, we have to wait atleast a day after the eye examination.

I am really happy with the result, I spend 80% of my time infront of my PC (due to work and also entertainment) and this causes me to have a bit of dry eye problem post surgery, but was given eye drops / gel, and it solved my dry eye issue.

The clinic I called only has femto LASIK it seems, so I'm a bit confused she said I can do examination and fento lasik same day.

But I do want to point out that you are indeed very brave to go for both on same day. Most people I think need time to think and digest 😝

did lasik in 2019. less than rm3k at advanced vision uptown pj. so far so good. just now getting old so going towards 'lou fah' lol
