Hi guys, new to this forum so somehow thought it will be good to start with spamming.

My big set collection. The 1st one that poisoned me was the VW Camper but I don't have the pic on my laptop.
Then came Sopwith Camel, Technic Sport Car and X-Wing.
Hidden from home minister is R2D2 and Shuttle Expedition. Not sure wanna build it or not.
Awaiting delivery is Millenium Falcon and Tower Bridge.

The current city trains have them: 3677, 7938 and 7939. If you just want to display them you don't need the Power Function components but they are an integral part of the entire build so you can't just take them out and expect it to look okay. If you want to remove all the Power Functions components then you will have to replace them with standard parts to complete the build. Probably the simple way is just don't put any batteries in and just display them with the Power Functions components built in.

Yes talking bout trains.. LEGO trains is a must-have for many AFOLs. there's a sense of charm there. I used to ponder over old LEGO catalogs as a child dreaming of owning one. took me 10 years to finally acquired one and it still there in my display right now. =)

I envy you cool2.gif When I was a child, I felt like want to buy train set but it was like RM400++ (I guess is around there) at that moment of time, which is like 10+ years ago. Due to my family can't afford this kind of train set, therefore I only play the CITY set sad.gif I was hoping to get a train set which I like though.. but is quite expensive (even I already working and earning)

nope, its more like u got a engine block together with the set (refer pic),
and if u want to put power function, u just remove the engine block, replace with power function
n reverse the process if u change it back

LOL... I spend my childhood years without a LEGO train. after my dark ages I attempted to "revive" this hobby but that time is not ideal coz LEGO had been juniorized. this: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6548-1

then I laid low for a few more years until one fateful day I spotted a LEGO train (just one there, jusco) in a very beaten up box , cellotaped back again, felt like Back-in-box . Bought it home and the poison started till now smile.gif

No la... 8043 Motorised Excavator price shot up because it is a discontinued and highly desirable set. The Mobile Crane MKII shouldn't cost so much but I have yet to really explore the pricing. If you look at the piece count versus that of 8110 Unimog you should get an idea of pricing.... Perhaps other members can share some insights into the pricing?
Yes. Lego do have gold tiles. smile.gif
*
This is the latest update/rumour I know so far: 42009 Mobile Crane MK II has 2606 pieces and estimate retail at USD$220 in US. RRP expectation here will be (220 x 3 x 1.3) = RM850 before any discount. About RM800-900 hmm.gif
Let me update my own info on first page.

8110 Unimog (largest Technic set so far) has ~2048 pieces.

That would be about an increase of 558 pieces 27%

QUOTE(hades4eve @ Mar 28 2013, 10:34 PM)
Just a question, must all the train set have motor and electric part? What if I just want to showcase only?
*
Not necessary to have motor. You can do it in stages, which ever way you want first.
Some train sets come complete with basic tracks and all motorised.
Some with basic tracks only.
Some just the train only. (Maersk)

For display, you don't need to add anything.
But will be nicer if have track.
Then you may need like 5-20x (or more) boxes of tracks and huge area/room to lay out the tracks. Without motor, you still can push it around manually tongue.gif
By adding motor (battery pack, lights), signalling/control system, etc. that would complete the entire train.
