define "worth" first tongue.gif

and define "collect" as well too smile.gif

collect as in buy and hold/admire the box in hope to goreng price in near future for a small profit?

or collect as in open the box ,build and be part of the centerpiece to be admired by house guests?

Well, after I moved then I will build it and display in the living room, revive the moment when I used to own a lot of lego set since I'm small (1993)...
*
then its worth collecting =)

I personally will do anything to relive my childhood (if wallet allows and ears still intact to take further abuse/pinching) ,coz thats the happiest worry-free moments ever. I believe that what makes most of us here smile.gif

But I'm enjoy the moment to assemble last time compared to now as last time its like a big bag of bricks and you go dig around in it and find the parts.. now is more like guided using numbered packaging.... I know numbered packaging is somewhat user-friendly, but it takes away my fun sad.gif
*
Last time the parts are generic and very easy to spot . Now there are too many specialised parts and the size are getting smaller and smaller. Even though the parts:price ratio doesn't change much compared to 20 years ago, LEGO company actually cram alot of tiny 1x1 round parts into their sets making it felt like "wow .. so many part for rm100! worth the price." .

When I opened new set to play around... I ALWAYS mix all the parts together despite instructions warning us not to do so. I love finding parts during assembly coz it prolong my enjoyment . And it enhances our hand-eye coordination skill too. smile.gif

Hmmm I think the price of Black Pearl can still go down to RM700. Just my 2 cents. For Queen Anne's, it's still a little on the high side. Waiting for bro Ultraman to give us location of where to get QAR below RM800 brows.gif

Yea.... lanun product shudnt be that expensive. its huge size are not from many lego plastic parts but the tall sails

Yes talking bout trains.. LEGO trains is a must-have for many AFOLs. there's a sense of charm there. I used to ponder over old LEGO catalogs as a child dreaming of owning one. took me 10 years to finally acquired one and it still there in my display right now. =)

I envy you  cool2.gif When I was a child, I felt like want to buy train set but it was like RM400++ (I guess is around there) at that moment of time, which is like 10+ years ago. Due to my family can't afford this kind of train set, therefore I only play the CITY set sad.gif I was hoping to get a train set which I like though.. but is quite expensive (even I already working and earning)
It's not that "realistic" as it is compared to Emerald Night....  sad.gif

LOL... I spend my childhood years without a LEGO train. after my dark ages I attempted to "revive" this hobby but that time is not ideal coz LEGO had been juniorized. this: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6548-1

then I laid low for a few more years until one fateful day I spotted a LEGO train (just one there, jusco) in a very beaten up box , cellotaped back again, felt like Back-in-box . Bought it home and the poison started till now smile.gif

Time to put a closure to this one! I started this MOC early March but stopped for 2 weeks just to play around with Creator Red rotors + Kai Fire Mech (aka Rotormech) .

Initially I attempted to make a triple changer but something hit me on my head on a new idea.. so I faster finish off with this one first hehe.

Do visit my blog/mocpages link for more photos and how he transform. smile.gif

Good morning everyone and happy Monday!

Got time to buy but too busy to build this weekend (feels like it almost every weekend!) due to chores and errands.
So I'm curious - what do you guys do with the price tag (if any)? Do you leave them on the package?

Personally, I rip them of as carefully as I can.

Can't stand the sight of them spoiling the looks of the box art. Yeah, I guess I'm abit OCD-ish like that tongue.gif
*
I leave the pricetag on for annual "auditing".

I used to maintain an EXCEL sheet for my other stuff but don't update religiously.

May use BrickPicker for this purpose now.

The "impact" of tabulating lego spending using computer doesnt work for me. Annual housekeeping (usually preCNY) must require me to take a good look of my lego boxes in the storeroom and then came to realisation that I've spent too much on these , and vow to be more frugal in the coming months. hehehe

link? i mean FAQ by forumers in this thread...many people have been asking "does amazon ship to MY?" etc.
*
but newbies seldom ,and almost never read the 1st page. Even new LYN members will totally skip the rules and regulations until they done something wrong , then only complain in helpdesk.

Well if such general question pops up.. just ask them to refer to pg 1 of the thread.
