QUOTE(hades4eve @ Mar 28 2013, 09:28 AM) But I'm enjoy the moment to assemble last time compared to now as last time its like a big bag of bricks and you go dig around in it and find the parts.. now is more like guided using numbered packaging.... I know numbered packaging is somewhat user-friendly, but it takes away my fun You can open all the packs and mix all together in a bundle QUOTE(manutd1003 @ Mar 28 2013, 09:34 AM) Yup... I miss the moment u found a brick when u thought it is lost... And u was so happy when u figured out it is hiding in the bricks! Just nearly thought my packs are missing 1 piece, until I re-read the whole instructions and found out I used a wrong piece earlier P/s: i dont like to arrange the bricks according to colors or size.. How many of u actually do this? |

QUOTE(Lego_Jason @ Mar 28 2013, 09:44 PM) No la... 8043 Motorised Excavator price shot up because it is a discontinued and highly desirable set. The Mobile Crane MKII shouldn't cost so much but I have yet to really explore the pricing. If you look at the piece count versus that of 8110 Unimog you should get an idea of pricing.... Perhaps other members can share some insights into the pricing? This is the latest update/rumour I know so far: 42009 Mobile Crane MK II has 2606 pieces and estimate retail at USD$220 in US. RRP expectation here will be (220 x 3 x 1.3) = RM850 before any discount. About RM800-900 Yes. Lego do have gold tiles. Let me update my own info on first page. 8110 Unimog (largest Technic set so far) has ~2048 pieces. That would be about an increase of 558 pieces 27% QUOTE(hades4eve @ Mar 28 2013, 10:34 PM) Just a question, must all the train set have motor and electric part? What if I just want to showcase only? Not necessary to have motor. You can do it in stages, which ever way you want first. Some train sets come complete with basic tracks and all motorised. Some with basic tracks only. Some just the train only. (Maersk) For display, you don't need to add anything. But will be nicer if have track. Then you may need like 5-20x (or more) boxes of tracks and huge area/room to lay out the tracks. Without motor, you still can push it around manually By adding motor (battery pack, lights), signalling/control system, etc. that would complete the entire train. QUOTE(hades4eve @ Mar 28 2013, 11:27 PM) Just got scolded by GF for buying Lego LOL Finished wrapping my X-Wing Set with "ClingWrap"... hope it keep the dust away! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Howevery, actually it is much better than going out to drink/smoke ... or worse find chicks. Sorry, I been out from Lego world for quite some time and now a lot of funny funny thing came out.. haha Lego Friends is the best to poison female The mini-fig is slimmer and taller, more feminine looking. The accessories are very detailed, and a lot. e.g. Ribbon can stick into cap/hat/hair. Bathroom got shower head, tap, hot/cold water, place to put soap, soap itself. The "mangkuk tandas" got cistern, cover, seat, etc. Even the sink itself got tap, soap, brush, etc. BTW, I'm not a girl |

QUOTE(hades4eve @ Apr 3 2013, 10:53 AM) Wow... So detailed? But do "Friends" bricks able to combine with our normal Lego brick? Or was like like Duplo trying to fit to Technic? The bricks are like normal Lego/City themes. The figs don't fit. But Friend's hair can put onto standard minifigs though. The accessories, there are no studs like bricks. Some are just able to grab using the hand only. |

Post some pics, Lego Technic related.
Recently bought 2x XL-motor (8882) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Read & view up some MOC ideas... and started my own modification to change the both the motor from L to XL. I don't have enough extra parts, hence I make do with a rough-design, and about 60-70% sturdiness, at least for now. There will be future versions. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Angle-view The chassis expand 1 beam wider on each left & right side, to accomodate the wider XL motor and free-play for suspension. Suspension remains at same height, but split wider due to expand chassis. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Back-view Change the gears and affect the ratio. XL motor is about half the RPM of L motor, but with higher torque, hence not much speed improvement. Crawling over objects is slightly better though. Extra bracing to hold the motor & gears in place. No gears skipping/grinding. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Side-view Notice the taller XL motor, the height is nearly touching the upper portion of the car. Hence, I may need to modify further to increase the suspension by 1 beam. This post has been edited by cute_boboi: Apr 5 2013, 11:16 AM |

QUOTE(scoop7 @ Apr 8 2013, 11:39 PM) Some sellers are very particular and put many levels/rankings:1) MISB - mint in sealed box. The best condition you can get 2) NISB - new in sealed box. Not mint though. Maybe some very fine scratches 3) Grade-A - very good condition, still like 80-99% new. Obviously opened box already. Or if referring to box, maybe slight dented, more visible fine scratch. 4) Grade-B - degrade to 50-80% range. Bricks maybe slightly discoloured. Box means dented quite bad. Bigger scratch/tear. 5) Grade-C - degrade to 30-50%. Discoloured quite bad, like white bricks become very yellowish. Box may have a hole, dented very bad, many scratches, or even tear up. 6) Grade-D - give the box to your cat/dog, and get it back after 30 minutes. That's grade-D |

Updated my Post #1251 into my blog. Also my last weekend testing on motorizing 8110 here.
Lego Technic - 8110 with XL Motor (pre-liminary testing) I re-use the XL motor for this testing. Again, there are a lot of info on the web. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The XL motor is temporary mounted at the rear chassis. I did not put back all the braces/fittings. The space is just fit for XL motor. You may try with the smaller size L or M motor and it will definitely fit. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Wheels rotate as expected, without gearing down, yet. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Further testing, for the steering, the XL motor is fitted vertically inside the cab, at the back. I did not change the yellow-knobs into gears yet, as this is just a trial. Also, both the motors are connected to the IR for remote control. The result ? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Yes, it works. But this is just pre-liminary testing. There are many pros and cons which I will list out below (that I can recall as of now): 1) Major: Need to gear down at all 4x wheels, by getting extra gears for it. Otherwise, it may stress the XL motor driving it. 2) Major: Yellow steering knob not effective for turning. Also, the far position of the motor for steering is not suitable. 3) Major: 8110 steering design fault. Those who have one (8110), will know the difficulty in twisting the black knob above the cab to steer the front-wheel on the ground if it is not moving. Refer the video below by nicjasno (all credits goes to him) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 4) Major: Without servo-motor or other manual-way, the steering does not return to centre, like the 9398 4x4 Crawler. Therefore, these are the things in my mind for to-do list: a) Gear down at the wheels. Simple mod. b) Install the servo motor at bottom (lower chassis). Do not use the cab area. c) Try to fit 2x XL / L motor to provide individual power for front and rear. I think L motor is feasible, if remove the front 4-pistons engine. d) Modify the front steering mechanism. Let's see how it goes along in future. I am ordering extra parts and stuff currently... QUOTE(yuying1 @ Apr 12 2013, 02:33 PM) Hi, mind letting me know how much did you get 8455 for? Been looking for it Bought for <RM500. Repeat: used set. Not yet ship it back, will take a long time before I can touch it. Want to salvage pneumatic parts from it. Ughhh... I just check Bricklink, the average price starts from RM20+ for new/used pneumatic-cylinder and ~RM10+ per pump). 10x means RM200+ already Actually, sometimes it's better to buy a complete set box and salvage parts from there. Much cheaper per part cost, and less hassle on ordering/delivery. QUOTE(Lego_Jason @ Apr 12 2013, 02:38 PM) 8043!
