QUOTE(Lucidus @ Apr 2 2013, 05:44 PM) While I find Waze's traffic estimation and the share route function good, its core navigational properties leaves a lot to be desired.Try driving around KL once with it and you will realise the importance of lane assistance that it solely lacks. Basically, it does not tell you which lane to stay in or which exit/ramp to take. Yes, it does show the arrow where to turn as well as the distance before reaching there, and it is highlighted, but with all the multiple flyovers in KL and many other parks of Klang Valley, chances are you would miss a lot of turns. QUOTE(Lucidus @ Apr 2 2013, 05:47 PM) http://www.android.gs/sony-c670x-is-sonys-...hip-smartphone/ The waiting game will never end. In fact, if you are following rumours, that phone you just linked is already outdated. There are already rumours of a Sony 5" FullHD SnapDragon 800 @ 2.2ghz with Cybershot branding, with a larger sized sensor and xenon flash, 32GB internal + microSD and being water/dust resistant too. Of course, I still feel like that's a geeky wish list more than anything else.Any insights on this guys? Should I wait for this instead of getting the Z? Edit: Oh yeah.. an apparently spots a 2700-3000 mAh battery.. but then again, the Z WAS rumoured to have a 2700 mAh too =\... LOL Do you need a phone now? If you do, get the Z, you won't regret it. Not urgent? Then just wait it out. This post has been edited by Areas Elysian: Apr 2 2013, 05:58 PM |

Hmm I'm not a person who often go from and to new places everyday of the week. Only every once in a while, and Waze has been more than helpful for me for that purpose. But yeah, it is still not a proper GPS.Try driving around KL once with it and you will realise the importance of lane assistance that it solely lacks. Maybe till the day I don't mind pocketing out RM2k for a phone which I know will be my only one for several good years. |

QUOTE(Lucidus @ Apr 2 2013, 06:03 PM) http://www.phonearena.com/news/One-Sony-li...i-phone_id41413QUOTE Sony has a lot to offer in the camera department with the Cyber-shot brand, and in the audio realm with all the tech surrounding the Walkman moniker, but the saying now is that there will only be one flagship phone under the new umbrella, not separate devices for camera aficionados with Cyber-shot module, and with Walkman branding for music fans. Look at the date today, tread carefully. It could be April fool or something
On the other hand, removing the hideous soft touch buttons with LMT pie ones makes the transition from app drawer to home much smoother, it lags before when everything is smooth as butter but now its fixed |

Thing I have done
1. Update to. 434 update (recommended). Use SUS/ PCcompanion 2. Root while retaining the bootloader. Link in first page 3. Install recovery system (twrp). To instal, turn off the pc companion software. Download the recovery and connect the phon. Run instalme and you will have the recovery installed 4. Install DoCoMo theme. Download the file from xda. Use ES file explorer to delete systemii.odex and setting.odex. I forgot and come up to the problem where the unit shut down after a minute from boot up. Lucky able to delete both afterwards (but have to be fast) then reinstall the DoCoMo mod again in recovery mode 5. Install full screen toggle and using LMT pie. Loving the real estate but the LMT a bit slower for fast back action 6. Used kingsoft document editor to write a report. Usable but very laggy when typing. At least it can do some work. QUOTE(mcchin @ Apr 2 2013, 07:33 PM) 5. Install full screen toggle and using LMT pie. Loving the real estate but the LMT a bit slower for fast back action I just set my LMT to extend the entire width of the phone, and hastened the animation speed. That way when I want to move back, I just slide my thumb up from the left side and stop roughly at where I set the back button to be. It might be a tad slower still compared to an always showing button, but the extra real-estate makes it worth it. Especially when it comes to typing with only one thumb, with the keyboard lower on the screen.. typing is so much more comfortable! |

Here is what I have done with mine so far.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Edit: QUOTE(mineja @ Apr 2 2013, 07:43 PM) There are plenty of apps that does it. One I've used up until recently was Notification Toggle. I like it because in additional to having those toggles and app links, the paid version allows you to also add shortcuts. This post has been edited by Areas Elysian: Apr 2 2013, 08:00 PM |
