Today drove a client's FLX exec nearly accident! Its my fault I was rushing through Jln Istana doing like 120kmh, didn't really pay attention to the meters. It was a curve & suddenly saw a car broke down at fast lane! Instant reflect look for escape on the middle lane but got traffic, the next thing I can remember to do is hard brake! The brake force from soft to turn hard can be felt instantaneously. I remember my right foot was feeling the brake pedal rejecting/vibrating like a warp disc rotor. I release my thumb from the inner diameter of the steering wheel to avoid injury, and was anticipating a full frontal collision.
In split second, the right foot vibrating sensation stopped. The car was fully stopped. By visual judgement I saw the distance between the FLX ayam driving was about a feet close to the broke down vehicle infront. Now only I realized the car infront is a Carens. I engage R shift, release my right foot but the car aint move. Only I realized my left foot also on the brake pedal Phew! |

well, the FLX Exec does stop gracefully.
I still remember at MRR2 when the car in front suddenly become stationary. I also apply emergency brake. Manage to stop 2 inches behind the front car without any drama, compared to a Vios behind creating loud tyre screech sound and attracted lots of eyes. lol |

QUOTE(ibnuasad @ Mar 19 2013, 07:53 PM) I thought if dry road, non-ABS should have better stopping distance than ABS? Once the wheels lock up, the co-efficient of the tyres drop so the braking distance increases. Gaga's brakes are powderful enough to lock the wheels even in the dry. I believe given an ABS and non-ABS Gaga on the same surface, wet or dry, it's not possible for the non-ABS to stop faster than ABS if both apply full braking. Yet another reason I envy the FLX.Anyhow...luckily nobody injured |

Well I'm thankful no one got hurt in that misadventure. Looks like the FLX's ABS and EBD are working fine.
QUOTE(ibnuasad @ Mar 19 2013, 07:53 PM) I thought if dry road, non-ABS should have better stopping distance than ABS? That is true only if you don't lock up the wheels. How many people are masters at pumping their own brakes manually, especially in an emergency? Anyhow...luckily nobody injured |

I wonder if FLX+ would include ESC |
