gkl83, does CAL-LAB got any outlet in Kuching?  Reason to ask is i suppose the cut-off threshold are set to be very minimum/sensitive so as to isolate lightning effectively, that is if i need to sent the "striked" unit, then i would have to post it all the way back for a RM25 exchange?  sweat.gif
*
got some outlet selling Cal-Lab products... Click here->APO LIST
AREA CODE: 08 (EAST MALAYSIA)
1. E&C ENTERPRISE CO. (KUCHING)
- TEL. 082-423888 CLEMENT YEO
4. CHUN MIN ELECTRONIC SERVICE (KUCHING, SARAWAK)
-TEL 082-451403 MR. STANLEY KHO
5. S. L. COMPUTER ACCESSORIES (KUCHING, SARAWAK)
-TEL 082-349489 / MR WINSTON CHANG

Cal-Lab not design to sensitive and get burnt easily even detected minor lightning...
it will burnt itself if the lightning voltage too high or cant ground the ligthning into earth effectively... each of the products have different limitation to overcome to lightning, it wont force to isolate the lightning because if fail to isolate the high voltage may caused ur equipment burnt along with cal-lab...

i not sure whether they have the Recycle(Working) Unit, because u cant get a new unit with RM25 only... but u can try to phone them and to check whether they got those recycle unit in their shop

and the price for cal-lab at East Malaysia will slightly higher than West Malaysia if not remember wrong... smile.gif

so fast? nice poslaju services rclxms.gif

not too recommended, better stop using ur PC if nothing important and unpluged telephone line to avoid RM25 "penalty", but i can confrim tat Cal-Lab can protect ur eqiupment effectively, so sure still can use when thunder storm with CLLI protected smile.gif

if the lightning voltage over the cal-lab limitation, it will self-destruct rather than force to isolate...

Yo!

Received my goods biggrin.gif

A very good seller. Recommends the one that I need instead of asking me to read on my own. Also provides good answers and is confident of the product he sells. He even gave a photocopy of his IC to show that he is earnest in doing his business!

Not to mention the price he offers is exteremely good!

Keep up the good work mate!

SC0039 and NILI9920F (only for standalone eqiupment)

if tend to plug several equipment on cal-lab, recommended to get MDSC0039, SLMS2+3, SL-AR and SL9602F... the power cable is longer than SC0039 and NILI9920F and can add additional earth cable to ground the earth cable efficiently... wink.gif

Hi glk83, does CAL-LAB has something for the whole house ? Like install on the main power line rather than buy individual unit for each power socket ?

actually ur house's ELCB act like CLLI, once it sense the high voltage and will jump the fuis... but perhaps it cant protect ur equipment well bcos u have variety type of equipment in ur house... it cant protect well is bcos it cant calculate accurately the voltage limit, it dont know till what the limit in order the jump the fius, perhaps jump randomly....

i have a experienced is the powerful lightning striked my cal-lab, dun hv jump the fius but cal-lab dead... so tat means the lightning surge still will pass thru the ELCB...

furthermore u have different spec of equipment... the power consumption will different, cal-lab have variety type of model for specific equipment....

example
SC0039 design for high power consumption (aircon, fridge, micro owen, senstive equip)
SLMS2+3 design for normal eqiup with low power comsuption (tv, computer, etc)

but if u set the ELCB too senstive not too good also, even it detected the minor lightning also will jump the fius... how about when u travel for 1week and lightning occured tat time, the ELCB jump the fius and ur fridge will stop operating, and ur food in fridge will............. sweat.gif so we hv a solution for this by using SL-AR, if the SL-AR detected the lightning surge, it will reset itself(switch off) and later on will provide power back...

Well another product I can think of is CAL-LAB built-in with the wall power socket. So that when any house is doing renovation or adding power extension, they can purchase the wall power socket and install directly instead of another box which does look ulgy right ?

Well you did mention if travelling for 1 week. Well if the ELCB is trip, aren't this will be the same ?

I'm not sure if ELCB is protecting the voltage surge or current surge ? But I'm sure CAL-LAB can look at something that is replacing the ELCB(for life, earth and neutral) so we don't need to get every single unit for every electrical equipment.

FYI, the cal-lab not only a "box", it included the PCB board, i think perhaps it cant fit into those wall socket well... but how about if the users tat not competent to do such eletronic thinggy, exchange the wall socket plug to CLLI product? we should concern abt it... it is better for u to "plug and play" rather than "unscrew and screw"...

in other ways, if u change the wall socket only and every equipment plug on it, the protection will get lower... bcos it design for "general, overall", if design for "specific" for particular equipment will have good protection...

good example here, SP9201 got 3 models (std version, ar version, dsl verion)... so its depend ur need... different equipment hv different needs...

tat the reason tat i said dont set the ELCB too sensitive, i dont think most of the house will jump fuis even the thunderstorm above us... only for some of them concern abt it and modify the ELCB into sensitive level... if ELCB too sensitive, got cal-lab also uselss, not point to buy to protect power line; if ELCB not sensitive, the cal-lab will help a lot

but most the ELCB designed for 240v, maybe till 260v-270v or even more only jump the fuis... but if ur house got sensitive equipments which cant absord the 250v even? then ur equipment dead... but if set the ELCB limited to 241v only, i believe will jump fuis many times per day, because we can know the the TNB's power supply not stable at all... each of the CLLI products have different limitions, pls check the 1st page "CLLI Brochures / Catalogs" 's bottom part... it jz a general information of the limitation for different equipment...

about the light sensor for turn ON or OFF the light, how to place it, is it beside the lamp or any other ways. About the sensitiveness of the sensor, if it detect the light from the lamp itself. Can you explain how it can be placed.

u means Carefree Lite (DIY) ?

u have to locate it where the lamp's light cant reach to the sensor... which means locate at "dark" area even the light is on or u can extend the distance which u prefer... it sound like u can place it on any location which will it bring u effectively and efficiently, even u can locate the sensor outside ur house even ur lamp in ur living room smile.gif but the most important is the sensor should facing to "day light", not the "lamp light" then it only can detect nicely...

but the HA series hard to make explaination at here, if u want more info abt them, can make appointment meet at office to show u the demo wink.gif
