Haha, yeah, I guess I am gonna start hunting for an X100. Any idea what the market price is right now for a brand new one? Has it or has it not dropped with the release of the X100S? I do see a lot of people scrambling to get rid of their X100 but still wanting ridiculous prices for them.
*
In the US the price of new x100 has not dropped and second hand x100 are actually more expensive now. Before the announcement, it was going for about 500-625 and now it's going for about 700-750. I think the announcement for the x100s created alot of attention for the camera, but many new adopters of the Fuji brand don't want to spend money on the newer x100s so the demand for second hand units are increasing.

Personally i believe X100 is a great camera to keep, or work as a backup camera. Dont see much reason why ppl selling their X100, ya true, can get back some money, but in reality, you cant get back much anyway (unless you really need the money)

If 2.5k is for new X100, second hand maybe around 1.9-2k? No reason at all to sell lower than that. This could be a collector items many years later.

For those selling their X100, please dont let ppl lowball you :-)

if you think that the extra 1k you pay for the X100s will worth for it..then just grab the X100s lar...because there is much improvement from X100 in terms of buffer, write speed, better control dial and a new sensor i guess? but in the end both produce the same image, is strikingly sharp and good iso performance...thats why i poison about this X100...

if budget constrain, try hunting a second hand X100, save up money for a fast UHS card and leather case, cheers and good hunting!

really thanks bro for sharing your experience with me...

i admit i am a spoil kid from nex system... for the WYSIWYG issue kinda let me down for few days, but i gain is a whole new experience of photo shooting... believe or not, i'm not taking EV adjustment seriously when i am with NEX... due to the troublesome process of back into the menu, scrolling and look for EV, then adjust.. then back to the scene and recompose  doh.gif

and 1 more question, for the AE/AF-L button, u guys set lock both at one click? or lock only AE? the spot metering looks very useful but still in the midst of exploring it...  hmm.gif
*
One more tip to set everything manually is that on a bright day, you set your aperture to f/16 and your shutter speed to 1/ISO. Then for every stop up of the aperture you half your shutter speed.

I set my button to lock AE. Holding the button down is awkward. There is no point in locking the AF as well unless you're doing a studio photo shoot

Luckily, I bought mine at RM1600, with warranty, original Fuji hood (I was like shocking.gif when I saw the price of this hood) and 2 Fuji leather cases. The owner is a lady and the SC is 2k only.

This beast is apparently makes a really amazing images, even I can honestly say on par with my D700. thumbup.gif . I will surely keep this camera wub.gif

thanks for the tips... meaning that, i will set my shutter to 1/400 when my ISO is at 400 and aperture at F16? gonna try this as the F16 for fuji will be retain a lot of details...

i still hv a small wish list in the next firmware release:

1) auto ISO shutter limit issue
2) WYSIWYG
3) a AF improvement on low light
4) focus peaking drool.gif

Simply that camera it's a gem in the photography world.

Perhaps save a little bit more for the "S"? In my opinion, the X100S's new sensor has certainly added some extra crisps to the photos output and as well as speedy AF which performs neck to neck with the OM-D which basically cover most of the flaws and ewws of the X100.

Some references - X100S:
SteveHuff: First Look + Lowlights (AF Speed too)
Fujifilm: X-Trans Sensor II
