If you search for Sweet Heart Paris car seat CS898, you should be able to see them list ECE R44 in their specifications. As mentioned, I've not sighted an actual CS898 so can't confirm if there's an ECE sticker at the back.

With the JOIE Stages (which I have), you can see the ECE R44 sticker at the back of the car seat. So it would be good if any Sweet Heart Paris owners can help confirm this. smile.gif

Carseat certification is applied to individual carseats, not to the brand. Every new design has to go through its own crash test, not simply get certification because the company made it. So for example, Sweet Cherry could have 10 different carseats, but some of them could be ECE R44 certified, and some of them are not. Certification DOES make the carseat price higher, because it costs money to get the carseat crash tested and certified.

If you're looking specifically at a European certified seat, it will have the ECE R44 or i-Size sticker. More information on the sticker here: http://www.maxi-cosi.com/products/car-seat...val-labels.aspx. For American carseats, the sticker will mention the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and will say it is certified in RED wording.

Just bought Chicco NextFit Convertinle car seat for my daughter as shes outgrown her infant carrier

I am really happy with the car seat as it is very easy to install using the ISOFIX/LATCH system.. Read a lot of good review about this car seat.. the quality is also there and my daughter love sitting in it

Actually was torn in between Maxi Cosi Pria and Chicco NextFit but since I couldnt find shop with ready stock Maxi Cosi Pria so decided to buy Chicco
Glad i choose Chicco

LATCH carseats (American) are cheaper than ISOFIX (European) and work exactly the same way. The Graco carseats I list here are currently both RM560 and the Evenflo is RM700 at First Few Years, a shop you can find at the Curve or at Paradigm. Make sure to read the manual and try to install the carseat on their dummy chair before buying!

Thanks a lot, I just purchased Graco Comfort Sport as my spare car seat. Generally all worked well, except that the rear facing is quite upright. My 6 months old LO seems to be more comfortable with the earlier car seat, Halford Solaris (a gift from relative). Unfortunately it has no isofix and my DH hates to install the car seat ( took longer and more tedious). He loves his car, therefore will take out the car seats from the car each time after using them. So an isofix car seat will be most convenient.

tq for feedback... acceptable price below 600...

now just found this one for isofix rm500++
http://www.sweetcherry.com.my/?route=produ...&product_id=111

latch carseat for me like not cool and easy like isofix? by the way i have no experience yet to use car seat..  just start to go online first for our first baby

As per Hanishoney's advice, go for the car seats with ECE sticker at the back. A salesperson can bend both sides of Sweet Cherry car seat (not the above model) and showed the importance of ECE certification. Imagine when accident happens, what will happened to the car seat, not to mention the baby in it?

Thanks for sharing. It's nice to know there are more options for isofix car seats. How is the rear facing position for your baby? Is it upright or slight recline?

To correct the angle of rear-facing carseats (ONLY rear-facing NEVER front-facing), do read http://www.carseatsite.com/reclineangle.htm. You can use a tightly rolled-up towel OR pool noodles. Since your husband wants to take out and put in every time, better to use a pool noodle. Can buy a loooooong one from Toys R Us and cut to the width of how far apart your car's ISOFIX tethers are.

What car(s) are you installing your Graco and your Halford in? Middle seat, behind driver or behind passenger? Have you tried the front-facing installation yet, or does your review apply only to rear-facing? How many inches is lost to push back the front seat when you install the carseats rear-facing behind a front seat? How easy is it for someone to buckle up beside your installed carseats when rear-facing OR when front-facing?

Whatever the seat you're buying, make sure you get to test fit it in your car. Graco seats usually are huge and won't fit comfortably on contoured seats.

Not all cars are built the same either. Myvi rear bench seats are flat whereas seats in a Nissan are slightly rounded. Larger seats may not comfortably sit on a shaped seat.

So back to my point, when buying a seat, buy from a shop that'll let you test fit it first. Prices don't differ too much from shopping centers and fairs anyway.

I totally agree that the car makes a difference. That's why I keep asking when people give their feedback on carseats, PLEASE mention what car(s) you're using your carseat with.

Personally I have used a Halford newborn to 15kg adjustable/front facing seat on a Myvi and Sylphy. Works well facing front or back, as long as it's on the back seat. It does not sit well in a Wira though.

Btw, car seats have a lifespan. Probably best not to use hand-me-downs if they are older than 5 years of age.

I'm using the car seat in a Kia Cerato with LATCH/ISOFIX attachment
Currently using front-facing configuration, behind passenger seat. The seat fits snuggly and it was very easy to install!

Car Seat
- Chicco NextFit Convertible Car Seat (from 0-6 years old)

Price
- RM1299.90

Attached Image

What car are you installing the Chicco NextFit in?
- Kia Cerato K3 (C-Segment)

Rear-facing or front-facing?
-currently trying front-facing, as my daughter already 18 months old and 11kg

Middle seat, behind driver or behind passenger?
-Behind passenger, as this is the best place to have a better view and access to the car seat from the front is she needs anything from me

Attached Image

Attached Image

How many inches is lost to push back the front seat when you install the NextFit rear-facing behind a front seat?
- Not sure how many inches, but i need to adjust the passenger seat 1 notch to the front compared to front-facing but still there's plenty of legroom for passenger. That is for fully-recline-rear-facing. As u can see in the last picture is the space for front passenger seat position for fully-recline-rear-facing and i still have lots of legroom. I'm 172cm by the way.

How easy is it for someone to buckle up beside your installed Chicco NextFit when rear-facing OR when front-facing?
-Havent tested yet but i think it's not gonna be a problem since the seat is not that bulky

Overall i'm very happy with the car seat as it has 9 recline adjustment, bubble level for accurate recline adjustment, supercinch adjustment for tightening the latch (read that adjusting latch is really tedious), comfortable seat and material, no-rethread headrest adjustment, clear instruction, great color, very stylish design, and a cupholder!

Eventhough at first i was looking for a fix-base ISOFIX car seat, i discover that it can only be use with front-facing configuration whereas rear-facing still need to use seatbelt. Maxi-Cosi Milofix offers rear-facing using ISOFIX but the process of needing to rotate the seat on the base looks troublesome since the seat is heavy. So after that I'm looking for car seat that comes with LATCH because the flexibility it offers, just need to switch the LATCH belt from rear or forward facing configuration which is much easier.

Dont worry, Graco is not our first isofix car seat. We have no issue on the installation of the car seat as we have a Recaro Proride (which is an Isofix car seat) for our first child. We are very happy with Recaro Proride, therefore order it again for our second baby. unfortunately it is out of stock and we have to wait for 2-3 months for it. Meanwhile we use a Halford Solaris while waiting for Recaro Proride. Too bad, my husband hates the installation of the car seat, hence we purchased the Graco.

We are driving a Golf GTI and have been using a car seat mat which has ECE R44 sticker on. My DH is very particular with his car, the car seats and safety, most of all. We tried using a roll up towel, it didn't make much difference. So we stick back to using a car seat mat. Graco is installed in a rear facing behind the passenger seat while Recaro Proride is front facing behind the driver seat.

We notice that Halford comes with additional seat padding, which Graco don't have, that's why my LO is more comfortable in Halford. Then we tried her in Recaro Proride, she is happy in it too. FYI, my LO is average in size and the Graco doesn't seem to be too big on her. In fact, Recaro is more spacious than Graco.

Like I have said, Graco is our spare car seat, everything is ok except the recline position is too upright for her. So we manage to persuade her older brother to give up his Recaro and use the Graco in front facing position while she seats in the Recaro. thumbup.gif

5 year old?! In a Combi Coccoro? Your 5yo must be quite short!

The seat is outgrown rear facing by weight at 33 lbs and by height when the child’s head is 1” from the top of the shell.

It is outgrown forward facing by weight at 40 lbs or by height when either the tops of the child’s ears are above the top of the shell or the child’s shoulders are above the top harness position.

You could probably do better. The Fischer Price one (forgot what model) is cheaper than Sparco and has pretty much the same functionality since it's more of a booster seat than a toddler seat.

The Sparco seat is very plush though, that's a huge plus point.

What car will you be installing your carseat in? I just read a blog that claims that Proton Saga seatbelt is too short to install joie stages rear-facing: http://pet9.blogspot.com/2013/04/joie-stages.html, but the blog didn't clarify whether old Saga or new Saga.
