9 years is a long time for the wipers to have their time doing some damages to the glass.....can't say much without looking at the damage.

But, I would assume that they would most probably be wiper 'trails'. Fine scratches caused by the movement of the wiper blades. Dirt and grit do get accumulated at the tip of the wiper blades and if not washed off properly they would act something like sandpaper. Nothing much can be done without the proper tools and products. Solution would be to send it to a glass specialist to polish them off.

The other possibility *could* be rubber residue, also from the wiper blades. Water spot remover can't touch those. You can try cleaning with some sort of bug and tar remover or solvent (like zippo fuel, diesel, mineral spirit, etc.).

There is at least one shampoo that I know of (and had some to try) that's able to removed oil stain/traffic film - Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss, it's a citrus base shampoo. Mixed at the correct ratio, it was able to remove much of the oily film but, unfortunately, at the wrong ratio it could also remove some portion of the wax/sealant as well. The reason being (my deduction) is wax/sealant also contain 'oil' to get that silky smooth feel and 'wet look'.....

If such shampoo were used, the clay will not pick up oil stain??

Think of it this way....it's something like a shampoo version of OPC at very weak dilution. And, same with OPC, also citrus smelling and you'd see separation after some time in stroage...oh...and NOT pH balanced.... tongue.gif

If you mean Megs Deep Crystal Polish (Step 2), I still have a 3/4 bottle full of it after I bought it....errr....many many years ago. What do you need to know about it's 'performance'?

I was actually thinking of using a shampoo, and no need use clay....

But clay do pick up other things as well, other than oil stain.

hmmm... any idea where to get the shampoo?

UP contain abrasives, DC2 doesn't, i.e. DC2 on it's own has ZERO cut - more like a glaze or pure polish.

'Safe' as in NOT removing the clear coat, then yes....since it actually does nothing much other than introducing some polishing oil ONTO the paint to give it a little shine. But, you'd need to also know this, don't expect it to do any corrections (eg. remove swirls, light scratches, etc.).

Bro, to be honest, I would recommend Megs UP over DC2. More user friendly and, if use it to lightly polish your car, it'll produce a better finish than DC2. And, later on, if swirls or light scratches started to appear, you can use it a little bit more aggressively to remove those as well - i.e. more versatile than DC2.

Just curious, when buffing the remaining wax off the body - is it normal for the residue to end up black on the microfiber cloth? Or does that mean the body surface is still dirty? No matter how much I had washed, stripped and clayed the area the residue still turns dark.

Remove the oil stain, but not the wax. OR be very sure that the oil stain is removed.

Try to cut the step of claying...

...I guess dirt not so easily stick to surface anymore & washes off better. Can't prevent the DG bottle from turning yellowish though....hahaha..

If surface is still dirty then it's the wax applicator you're using that is suppose to turn black (Does it?)...not the cloth for buffing off residue.

Haven't found anything that can do something like that. Normally if oil stain removed then the underlying LSP is also compromised.

Anyway, how often did you need to clay? I only clay if I intend to polish afterwards. Those days (before I had the coating on), it's just AIO/paint cleaner before applying a fresh layer of LSP....once in around 3 ~ 4 months.
