there is 2 trail. the one on the left going uphill is called boner. but it is now spoiled due to excavator digging a new road up to someone's bungalow. the one going down on the right is connecting to the trail called kampung.

you can go in from there but it will be tough. usually we come out from there and go in back kiara from behind hartamas school

Hi Broadica, thanks for the info. Cos that area have ample parking space outside the condo (and alot of monkeys lepak there). So was thinking to start from there.

I will try entering from hartamas school then.

during weekend, infront of hartamas also plenty of parking.
the thing is... enter here and exit the boner/kampung exit there is a big loop.

u can park hartamas school. cycle and enter via horse ranch gate (gate close at 11am) and exit behind the hartamas school. pretty good coverage

Hi guys, I'm a newbie in riding MTB, and I need your opinion on which one would be a better bike?

1) Trek's Mamba
2) Specialized's Rockhopper Comp

Thanks.

Got some questions for our MTB sifus...
1. Got a Fox RP23 boost valve rear shock. How do you tell if the nitrogen in the IFP chamber is gone or below the recommended pressure?

2. Besides sending a Fox shock/fork to Singapore for a full rebuild, anyone around Klang Valley can do a complete rebuild including charging IFP nitrogen?

3. My Fox 36 Talas 2011 FIT RLC is still using the older Fox seals. After 2011, Fox changed all seals to SKF low friction seals which is supposedly buttery smooth. Anyone carrying it locally?

Have you visited KH Cycles in Damansara Perdana? Pay them a visit. They're the Fox centre for Malaysia IINM.

1. IFP can only check the pressure via the valve. unless you have the adapter and tools. otherwise need to go to fox service center

2. KH cycle and bikepro are authorized fox service center. external 3rd party service can only do regular maintenance like change seal and fluid.

3. now all replacement parts are skf seal liao. its been a while. send yours into those authorized center, they all use the new seal.

Road distance is about 12-13km. FYI the route I normally use to go Kiara is Subang -> Sunway Mentari -> Cable bridge -> SS1 -> SS2 -> Tropicana Mall -> TTDI (Kiara). Normally avoid high traffic roads as much as I can (no choice at cable bridge though).

For KDCF, after SS1, I head towards taman megah -> dataran prima -> tropicana -> sunway giza -> KDCF. Distance this way is 15-16km I think.

Anyway, got ur number. Will contact u soon

RESPECT! i live in Kepong 6km from FRIM also i cannot summon my lazy arse to go.

You can do it wan. When I rode the distance the first time, halfway oredi panting like crazy. Reach kiara died no energy left somemore have to cycle all the way home. Killer gila. After few more times ok dy. Maybe familiar with route and also stamina increased. Main thing is start slowly and pick up pace later.

Maybe you can try planning your route using google maps and then riding it to see if the roads are too busy, or if there are shortcuts that you can explore. I think you can oso ride to kiara using the kg segambut dalam road and enter from the side of the school in hartamas

Ok will go and check with them. Call them before but think the receptionist don't quite understand what I was talking about. Do KH cycle do the servicing here or send it down to Singapore? 6-8 week bike downtime is not good. Also heard that some of the local guys (non-authorized service centers) saying that they can do nitrogen charging. Just wondering how true is that?

1. What are the symptoms when there is no nitrogen in the IFP? Sorry kinda new to shocks. My rebound adjustment control works fine - tried fast/slow damping response. Initial mm shock freeplay before sag and initial travel "squish" sound to sag but relatively silent through out travel stroke. Only thing is propedal on/off made no difference - wondering if propedal cam/rod/needle is defective or could it be the IFP charge?

3. Fork is new and seals have not broken in yet as I bought a 2011 clearance stock bike cheap. Problem is it is with the older Fox seals. Was contemplating on changing them on the next service. Don't know how much difference it would make. Change dust seals + FIT RLC cartridge seals to low friction sure gonna cost some $$$

KH Cycles service it on their own. I sent mine once, the next day dah siap (but then again, maybe they have nothing to do at that time). Usually, 1-2 weeks down time. My shock leaked oil. Was charged RM250.
I have no ideas on those nitrogen questions.

already say ma those shop are authorized service center... mean they do in house servicing.

IFP affects damping... does ur shock bottom out easily or what?
propedal can only feel when u pedalling ma... it get stiff on pedalling force.
initial few mm freeplay could be mounting related issue (bushing wear or screw not tighten to torque).. it should not free play.
best send it to the pro for consultation la...

the SKF seal is only the dust seal.. nothing to do with FIT. make not much different la since u are new to it... unless u been used to the old seal then changing to new one only see the different.

if you got money ma go change la.. 2011 new fork only mean its sitting there since year 2010/11 until now. if want to be cynical, fox recommend servicing every how many hours of ride/or shelf storage.
if not then just ride until it got problem
