Noob and newbie here. Just purchase a new MTB 3 months back: Giant Revel 0 29er for RM2K. I know anything <= RM2K I can only get to choose the color but for this model, only have matte black. Haiz... color also cannot get to choose.. but its a Matte Black!



Been cycling around taman averaging 10-12km every week and wanted to get into "action" in the legendary bukit kiara.

I am kinda solo now and looking for some newbie buddy to ride along. Any takers?

I am planing a newbie casual ride tomorrow (Friday) @ 7.30am in FIRM. I have never been there, so its kinda "bang wall"

The tarmac track was good but my bike kinda heavy. Try searching for dirt trail but only found 1 about 500m. Anyone going kiara this sunday?

if you have the money, buy the most expensive option, at least it will make you feel good. Else how do you compare toyota vs honda vs nissan?

Same price range bike comes with same price range quality parts

My stock Giant revel is 15kg, feels kinda heavy for me (i am a small build guy).

i bought mine in wangsa maju. It's a Giant retail boutique. Usually they will give around 10% discount.

Try Giant Revel 29er, entry level and looks cool

i got mine RM2K (bike only). The stock accessories OKlah for that price. I will just trash this bike and replace what is necessary. Not going to spend 5k - 10k new bike to trash.. sakit hati!.. haha

Hi, anyone cycle solo here? When you cycle alone, do you feel vulnerable with all those crime happening around?

I have a friend friend's kena kick off from the bike by mat rampit (nothing against other motorcyclist) and badly hurt. Its kinda scary come to think about it as i always cycle alone.

Hi Broadica, thanks for the info. Cos that area have ample parking space outside the condo (and alot of monkeys lepak there). So was thinking to start from there.

I will try entering from hartamas school then.

Actually I didnt know where the trail leads to or how long. Was thinking to go exploring.

The past few post is damn too technical for me

Anyway as a newbie with RM2K giant bike (with my color choice) XS size frame 29er, i have some experience to share:

I went kiara for the 2nd time last 2 weeks and has a bad fall when cornering. My lower ribs hantam on a tree branch and it hurts as hell. The reason of the fall is my foot on the pedal made contact with the front wheel... XS frame with 29er.. you can imagine that.

Another advise for other newbies it to wear glove and knee/elbow guard. You might look like a pro wannabe but better to protect your flesh. And with those deore, xtr, carbon, alu spec, why the fuss? As a newbie.. just enjoy the ride...
