EPF's gross income was RM39 billion in 2014.
To get some indication on how big is 1MXX's RM42 billion debt, then 0% dividend for a year if that was used to bail it out. Not saying EPF will bail it out, just using the income as a comparison. I really hope and pray that after this 1MXX debt is settled, those responsible will be charged and xyz etc. Bad investment is one thing is bad enough. Siphoning some of the billions away is another thing. Sorry, off topic. |

On the way already.2000-2001 is the tech bubble burst in the US FYI Means the next recession cycles coming soon? Like the recent Seremban's Mapex, all the developers are giving rm30000-40000 of discount. And best of all, only 10-20% sold |

More EPF members opt for flexible age 55 withdrawal in 1Q
QUOTE The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) saw the amount withdrawn under its Flexible Age 55 Withdrawal facility jump 42.55% to RM2.68 billion in the first quarter of this year (1Q15) from RM1.88 billion a year ago. In a statement today, the country’s largest pension fund said this stemmed from the 77,865 applications approved in 1Q15, a 37.37% increase from 56,681 applications in 1Q14. http://www.theedgemarkets.com/my/article/m...5-withdrawal-1q |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ May 25 2015, 04:07 PM) More EPF members opt for flexible age 55 withdrawal in 1Q I don't understand the statistics.http://www.theedgemarkets.com/my/article/m...5-withdrawal-1q It's says :- QUOTE The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) saw the amount withdrawn under its Flexible Age 55 Withdrawal facility jump 42.55% to RM2.68 billion in the first quarter of this year (1Q15) from RM1.88 billion a year ago. If the amount withdrawn has jumped in %, wouldn't it mean more people are inclined to withdraw (more) money out than keeping it with EPF ? Why the conclusion is this :-QUOTE “The increasing number of applications for flexible withdrawals reflects more members at age 55 opting to stretch their savings longer with the EPF,” said its chief executive offer Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan. Can someone enlighten me ? |

(therefore " the amount withdrawn has jumped in %") More people are withholding withdrawal. |

(therefore " the amount withdrawn has jumped in %") More people are withholding withdrawal. Realistically speaking this is not absolutely equivalent. They must sum the amount withdrawn at age 55 ( flexi withdrawal + lump sum withdrawal ) together, and make a before and after comparison ( 1Q14 vs 1Q15), to be able to arrive at such conclusion. They have a logic failure. This post has been edited by puchongite: May 26 2015, 01:58 PM |

QUOTE(puchongite @ May 26 2015, 01:58 PM) I think I found their "logic" already. They have the flexi withdrawal, and the non-flexi withdrawal ( lump sum withdrawal) . If the flexi withdrawal amount has increased, then they concluded that the lump sum withdrawal has reduced. They have a logic failure. they are still "telling" the truth....(in a way) |
