As I see it, it was the best answer to a stupid question when answer was an obvious "no".

I would even answer why don't they increase the age till 75 or 80. This way the savings will more probably outlast your life.  tongue.gif

Beginning take 20% out. Ac left with 80%.

After 3 months, take another 20% out, ac left with .8 x .8

After another 3 months, take 20% out, ac left with .8 x .8 x .8

Without considering monthly top up, the ac will never be emptied. Is that right ?
*
hmm.gif there is a the Basic saving sum to consider, it increases every year.....will that make the 20% harder to get?

I don't understand the statistics.

It's says :-
If the amount withdrawn has jumped in %, wouldn't it mean more people are inclined to withdraw (more) money out than keeping it with EPF ? Why the conclusion is this :-
Can someone enlighten me ?  blush.gif
*
hmm.gif the amount means monies....
maybe less people withdrawn, but those "few" withdrawn more monies compared to previous.
(therefore " the amount withdrawn has jumped in %")
More people are withholding withdrawal.

I think I found their "logic" already. They have the flexi withdrawal, and the non-flexi withdrawal ( lump sum withdrawal) . If the flexi withdrawal amount has increased, then they concluded that the lump sum withdrawal has reduced.

Realistically speaking this is not absolutely equivalent. They must sum the amount withdrawn at age 55 ( flexi withdrawal + lump sum withdrawal ) together, and make a before and after comparison ( 1Q14 vs 1Q15), to be able to arrive at such conclusion.

They have a logic failure.

hmm.gif but maybe "they" wanted to project it that way.
they are still "telling" the truth....(in a way)

"It also seeks to introduce a new section which states that no dividend shall be credited into the account of a member who is not a Malaysian if no contribution has been credited into his or her account over a period of three years."

interesting new section.
so non Malaysian can also contribute to EPF?
or are they referring to those who gave up their citizenship?
*
Non-Malaysian citizens
• Foreign workers employed and staying in Malaysia legally may submit a notice of election to contribute using Form KWSP 16B and register as an EPF member using Form KWSP 3. A copy of the Form KWSP 16B must be submitted to the EPF and to the employer.

Who can contribute to EPF.... December 9, 2013
