PETALING JAYA: With the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) recording a stronger performance in the first nine months of the 2023 financial year (FY23), experts are anticipating a higher dividend declaration this year.

The dividend announcement is expected to be made in early March.

Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd chief economist Mohd Afzanizam Abdul Rashid expects the dividend rate to be between 5.5% and 6% for both conventional savings.

I have a feeling they will announce today. I remember 2nd FM said February will be announced 🤞

Say, I have RM1.1mil ... the division payout of a 0.5% difference will be like RM5,500 ... = RM7.50 ( chicken rice ) x 733 ( plates of chicken rice ) ... 0.5% is a lot leh ... can cover lunch and dinner lio individually at rural area.

That's why the kong mutt run and kong mutt chat .. mentioned 5.5% to 6.0%. Imaging 733plate of chicken rice throw at you.. can feel leh a lot leh..

Last minute tweak ? Well if they tweak to a higher figure no one will be complaining

and who wouldnt want a rosy dividend,

but they cant give us money which they do not have, can they ??

Last month, the news were hyping dividend as high as 6.5%.
Then dropped to 6.3% followed by 6.0% now.
Suddenly everyone is expecting a max dividend of 6%…

When the dividend is out at slightly above 6.0% later, everyone will be happy and thanking kwsp…
Imagine if we are still expecting high dividend of 6.5% and actual dividend is 6.0-6.1%, everyone will be angry…
