QUOTE(orangutan @ Feb 8 2018, 12:19 PM) [attachmentid=9577224] As per attachment, keeping it simple, if dividend is 6%, therefore, 6% / 12 mths = 0.005 or 0.5% per mth Did I get the calculation correct? I also can't seem to find EPF email to ask them this. Anyone have it? It's pro rated and calculated on daily basis. If it's simple calculation as yours, every body would rush to deposit lump sum in December to enjoy the dividend in two months time. Try calculate 100% * 6% for January deposit, then 11/12*100%*6% for February,10/12*100%*6% for March and onwards. You have to consider the money need to be deposited for one whole year to get full dividend.

** interest is not compounded monthly. Compounded only yearly. ** I assume you deposit on the first day of the month. Interest is on daily basis.

QUOTE(watabakiu @ Feb 7 2018, 10:05 PM) I used to contribute to EPF, but stopped when i began my freelancing. I guess I can remit my money into the account, and can quite simply be done via online bank transfer? QUOTE(drbone @ Feb 8 2018, 09:21 AM) Yup, maximum amounts of RM5000, multiple times. QUOTE(cckkpr @ Feb 8 2018, 10:37 AM) You can deposit up to RM60k per year at anytime. But even for voluntary contributions, withdrawal would still be upon retirement. is this correct?

Trying out your formula, I ended up getting 1,809.86 My formula below, [Number of days in account] / 365 * 6% * [Current balance]

Hi guys, sorry for this noob question.
1. Let's say I am withdrawing everything from Account 2 for properties in 2017. So the dividend only applies to Account 1? 2. If I am withdrawing Account 2 for house monthly loan, it's by monthly withdrawal or one shot? If one shot, how about future amount in Account 2?

Dividend is paid based on the balance on both. 2. Either way. If you still got future contribution, it'll partially go into Account 2. You can empty it again if you have sufficient amount to withdraw.

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Feb 9 2018, 11:27 AM) Maybe this round is unique 😊 More than ASB Highly unlikely due to the political nature and election season. ASB also they had to twist and turn and say return is 8.25% when actually its 7% for 2017. Also check out Tabung Haji where they are also not so direct with the returns: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=102...13699194&type=3

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Feb 9 2018, 10:54 AM) Hopefully its 7.5% 🙏 7% also acceptable 😊 EPF CEO stated 6.5 - 7.5% for 2017. I know that is a range and he is not saying it will be 7.5% But it is giving members the 7.5% impression. Furthermore, now it will be announced by Ah Jib, to some people like me, it will be a very high number, thus 7.5%! Ha. I thought they have been in this political public image game long enough to handle this properly. Maybe they have very short memory on things like this? Just hope for 7.5%. Now even 7.4% will be disappointing for me.
