QUOTE(plumberly @ Jan 28 2017, 11:20 AM) Did some estimations on the 2016 div % a few nights ago with assumed Q4 revenues. Sharing here.... But please don't shoot me down with missiles (nuclear or non nuclear) .... [attachmentid=8443589] Hopefully it will be above 6 %. P/S Gong Xii Fatt Chai to all! 6.0% i'll be very very happy loh considering the loss EPF incurred in FGV shares

QUOTE(xuzen @ Jan 29 2017, 11:56 PM) Blessing or curse? It is all perception. Friend Hansel, haven't you read in the media? Graduates are now dime a dozen and a high percentage are either unemployed or receiving wages that does not comensurate with their paper qualification. I am inclined to think that graduates and universities understudies are highly over-rated. I am now thinking of alternative education pathway for my offspring even though I am a product of the local university pathway. Yup I went the full monty.... SPM ===> STPM ===> local Uni ===> work (salariiman). Xuzen. The best universities in the world are Google and YouTube. That all you need. You can be great. That what I told my kids. of cause lah... they are still undergoing the standard path of spm.preU.undergrad.postgrad, but heavily associated by Google and YouTube. Yeah,... actually it's true that there is actually not much we can do to control this. It's better that we look outside into the world to see how we can increase our investment returns, rather than depending on EPF to do it for us. What we can do is to prepare ourselves to take out our EPF funds when time comes, in order to invest properly elsewhere, whether in-country or outside of Msia. We should equip ourselves with knowledge and experience now ! Not really to hope for 6++ % divvy rate. Furthermore, even with a 6++% divvy rate, and the RM falls further as time goes by and goods and services around us become more expensive, what's the point ??

So, if EPF makes announcement next week, likely, the rate is reasonable. doesn't matter anyway. early or late, up to EPF to announce the rate. we cannot control then quantum of the dividend. even if they announced NOW, not that we can get the money out for use . most of us still 'young' to get any substantial dividend amount.
