QUOTE(familyfirst @ Jan 17 2017, 03:04 PM)
Computer also no money to buy .. its to do with people's purchasing power very low.   Already so low, then savings also super low, then now go and kacau the savings some more.

Better use their otak to see how to increase peoples income better la, rather than spend now and decrease people's savings.

although i generally agree with your thoughts on "not too good an idea to rob EPF"
BUT (there's always 1 or more heheh)
for those that really want to have a computer to learn, earn, learn programming, upgrade skills (ie. not play games, surf net for fun, etc.), it is worth it as an investment.

it's like in yester-years, people save $ by having only 1 candle/kerosene light at night - not bright enough to read.
however, if there is a hungry reader/learner and their family "saves" on such, guess how far that family will grow/evolve their finances?

just a thought from another side - no gospel truths notworthy.gif

Balance account 1 = 70k, acc 2 = 0
A/C 2 is for health, education, house

Thanks for the fast feedback.

Let say a person monthly epf contribution is 2k (employer+employee)
Acc 2 will be starting the saving again from zero with monthly 2k *30% = 600 ?

Correct?

Well for most of us, 6% is already good enough considering the market situation now blush.gif

If I do EPF self contribution, it will be into Account 2?

Can we check account balances using EPF online website just like online banking?

It will go to both AC 1 (x%) and 2 (y%). Forgot the % values now.

Yes, in EPF online, you can see your contributions and withdrawals, and the balances in the 2 accounts.

anyone knows if i can use my EPF to settle my PTPTN loan if I didnt finished my study for that particular loan?

I found it is quite ridiculous to restrict such withdrawal while in fact you are earning money in your EPF but you cant settle your ptptn debt cause u didnt finished the study for that loan. I mean it is the same right? if i finished my study, then i am allowed to withdraw to settle it. geez.

for me as long as you have sufficient balance in ACC 2 and they are approving withdrawal for ptptn settlement, it should be quite straight forward.

Yep. you can use account 2 to settle your ptptn. I did it just a few months ago to settle a portion of it.

even you didn't finish you will be charged by semester. it is like this everywhere in the world esp in the US. you don't need a transcript. just head to ptptn. ask the officer how much you owe and get documents signed and prepped then bring the said documents to epf. they will settle for you

are u sure? how recently you made the withdrawal? because i have applied e-withdrawal through EPF website almost a year ago to fully settle my PTPTN debt. Then they rang me up and ask me to head to their office together with supporting documents including transcript. Then I told them I didnt finished my study and working in different area now, she straight away told me it cant be done and they will just reject my withdrawal request.

This is from EPF not PTPTN. PTPTN should have no issue to supply all the required documents. It is EPF that making fuss about it.

I did it over the counter bro. I paid 7k for it and it was performed in July. i didn't need a transcript. just the documents from ptptn for epf to go through. I do not understand why epf has to go though your university because the money is funnel into ptptn.

think of it this way:
1. The Universe will only send challenges that we can handle + rewards that we can handle
2. What doesn't kill U, makes U stronger
3. (1)+(2.) = lots of opportunities created by self, thus creating own luck laugh.gif

Just a thought - there are always pros & cons if one looks for them notworthy.gif

Blessing or curse? It is all perception.

Friend Hansel, haven't you read in the media? Graduates are now dime a dozen and a high percentage are either unemployed or receiving wages that does not comensurate with their paper qualification.

I am inclined to think that graduates and universities understudies are highly over-rated.

I am now thinking of alternative education pathway for my offspring even though I am a product of the local university pathway. Yup I went the full monty.... SPM ===> STPM ===> local Uni ===> work (salariiman).

Xuzen.

Tq gents,... well,... the education part would be one of the blessings/setbacks today, as Xuzen said,... but besides the chances for education, these people also get the chance to attain overseas life and experiences, which broaden their horizon and their outlook in life. Wouldn't you guys agree that this would definitely be priceless and there is nothing negative towards attaining these experiences of life,..

Still blessed I would say....
