If it is really 6.4% as speculated, tho in previous calculation it is possible if they use their reserves, i would like to see the Q4 results and look for the amt. of the impairments made. Understating impairments would yield another rm1bil in profits.
if they really use up the reserves, alot of question would be raised and next years' dividend would be bad. |

so it's now officially the dividend rate is 6.40% for year 2015
like I said previously. It's quite good considering the weak market now. most expecting 6% or lower |

Got the EPF 2015 total revenue. Did a quick comparison. See below.
We expected a lower % than 2014 as we thought EPF would not be doing as good due to the economy. Well, EPF did better than 2014 by about 5 billion! AND YET A LOWER DIVIDEND! Keep some money for the bad time ahead? Does EPF practise this? Or some hidden hands and dealings only they know? Cheerio. |

Nice chart, but what about the consideration of how much capital/depositors funds for both years? If 2015 fund size larger, obviously need more revenue to sustain same dividend rateWe expected a lower % than 2014 as we thought EPF would not be doing as good due to the economy. 6.40 % is really good in this period. I just wonder how they do it. No complaints though !
Article related to the subject: http://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...tive-rates-era/ Seems like EPF is now a pretty good option to stash savings, as long as we're willing to wait until retirement to access it. This post has been edited by langstrasse: Feb 20 2016, 10:03 PM |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Feb 20 2016, 11:28 PM) Yes, rather cynical/ignorant of me to state what I said earlier on their 20 Feb thing.Learning here is, wait for MTUC meeting with EPF for next year, then announcement will be the following day! Guess that is part of EPF's shareholders duty, to pre-inform the big boys and girls. Ha. |

QUOTE(langstrasse @ Feb 21 2016, 09:40 AM) Yes now I remember about that London property disposal, that makes sense. Probably tough to sustain the same performance this year then. Malaysia's state pension fund, the Employee Provident Fund (EPF), has sold its property at One Sheldon Square in London's Paddington Central to British Land Company Plc for £210 million. The deal also marks EPF's first property disposal in the U.K. EPF, the world's sixth-largest pension pool, also owns real estate in Germany and France. http://www.reuters.com/article/malaysia-ep...N0XB3ED20150414 The London deal is the first one in UK....more to follows?? |
