My prediction of 5.80% is wrong too - EPF can do better even in times of difficulties.
6.40% is slightly higher than the payout for 2013 at 6.35%. 6.40% is lower than the payout for 2014 at 6.75%.
When EPF Management said the Dividend given out this year will be good, it looks like their definition of 'good' for this year is acceptable.

EPF dividend is slightly lower than last year's, LUTH's dividend is good, ASB's dividend is slightly lower than last year's, probably ASM's dividend will be around 6.1% next month.

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Feb 22 2016, 12:25 PM) u are lucky to have ASB. if I'm in your position, better to withdraw EPF & dump into ASB & ASB2. their dividend more than EPF but too bad, not qualified. so still keep EPF Not a bumi leh! Only ASM and Wawasan.

QUOTE(nanan75 @ Feb 22 2016, 08:29 AM) If 75 im happy, the base amount can still draw annual divident which is better than fd 😄😄 Well at that age, money is not as meaningful as it is when you are younger. You can't eat as much , you can't travel, you won't go out for movies , most likely bed ridden and dependent on others.

EPF intends to grow its foreign assets up to 27 per cent over the next two years in a move to further diversify its portfolio.
CEO Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan said the fund's foreign assets had grown to 25 per cent in 2015 from 23 per cent in 2014, after an aggressive diversification exercise in global assets in the last five years.
He added that the diversification could help offset or balance out the varying market performance.

No wonder some complain about living in pressure cooker. Diff folks diff expectation, thats what I am saying. I always encourage one to do retirement planning even from young instead of wasteful spending. A young man with BMW, most likely paid with credit and not building wealth whereas an old man with BMW paid with cash from his accumulated wealth. I for one PLEASE myself when my wealth pile up n I only need to spend on the dividend. And when I go I will happily pass it to my family. To me that is joy. It is hard to make the first million(esp so if u are spendthrift) but once u achieve that the next few millions will come easier.
