Probably the existing balance in account 2 that can be transferred to account 3....

EPF give till end of August 🙏

No way can opt out account 3... It's default settings for all types of contribution starting 12 May
*
If transfer from A/C 2 to A/C 3, or later on setup SI to transfer from A/C 3 to A/C 2 will cause the transferred amount only entitled to 1 day dividend for that month?

Hopefully I am overthinking

Same here....

Need to go EPF office to fill up form manually kinda hassle to many....

Easy if got in i-akaun kwsp 👌

I hope later on, EPF changes their mind... Can be done online 🙏
*
Deputy FM mentioned can do Standing Instruction, so the most also one time visit but even better if SI can be done online

QUOTE(coolguy_0925 @ Apr 26 2024, 05:13 PM)
Can setup Standing Instruction as announced by Deputy FM

Unker read that a lot of fellas wanna take out their EPF via ACC 3 , and then kungfu here and there... transfer here and there to squeeze more returns
While Unker understand some people are Bruce Lee when it comes to finances, but most people overestimate themselves to do big kick move like splitting their legs.
Most likely, these amateurs will ended up busting their nest eggs
*
To those who really have confident outperforming EPF or having higher risk appetite they can do so

But for people like me, not high risk appetite and okay with 5%+ return I prefer leaving it as it is

However, seeing the response of members withdrawing... I am also starting to wonder can EPF continue to maintain that kind of return

Same here...

Seriously having some doubt if EPF can sustain their dividend rates... Especially after the huge impact on account 3 withdrawal...

Around 50bil $$$ up for withdrawal...
With many expecting around 30bil would be withdrawn by end of 2024 itself..... And number would increase as times goes by...
*
Yup not that the issue came out of nowhere

IIRC one ex minister which is also now a minister said the previous MCO withdrawals did impact the div %

Not forgetting about account 3 dividend rates...
Which they also say would be same...

The impact really cannot imagine...

EPF better managed their assets & investment well above average.... To reduce the negative impacts....
*
True

This got me wanting to do the one time withdrawal from A2 to A1 and A3 and still park there until next year div time, and decide should I withdraw from A3

If dropped to only like 5% and give that exact reason why not I withdraw to even ASM also better because got flexibility

Well still have time until Merdeka Day to pull the trigger

EPF is a lousy investment

You lose out 2 part
1. Ringgit depreciation with time. You lose future purchasing power
2. Not increasing returns. You lose to inflation. Anything that does not increase overtime, it's basically a paycut every year.

Govt give you chance to cash out to park your money overseas, use it.

Don't cry mother and father 10 years down the road your ringgit is worth a lot lesser.
*
Like I said

Risk appetite

You are okay with higher risk taking investing overseas and foreign currency doesn't mean I am okay with it

I am aware of the depreciating MYR but everything has an opportunity cost

You will never know where USD will go down the road and more or less we know why USD is so high now

What we need to learn is respecting each others decision than keep saying what others doing is wrong

Nevertheless, guess better not pull in topics too far from KWSP here

Agreed...
EPF don't really have full flexibility.... Unless one is 55yo or have 1mil....

Now good chance to take out some....

If you know what you into...
Need to plan well...

Withdraw just for YOLO... Then don't cry father mother after retirement...

If withdraw to invest in better assets ROI...
Proceed to success 💪🔥💰
*
YOLO? Got comments in socmed said their A2 already emtied when MCO so this is not benefiting them and asking for A1 withdrawal

While sometimes also true YOLO also not entirely wrong as what if tmr never come and what if investment could not outrun inflation biggrin.gif

Thats why when we remained invested in KWSP and giving 'competitive' rates somehow can cover inflation

But if the mass withdrawal causing worsen return, then... time to say gudbye?

Actually it's riskier to hold ringgit. Why? Imagine you know flood is coming. Do you do nothing and hope or do you do something? Eg get float, even though you cannot move your house. Same thing.
Anyway you do. I do me.
*
LOL like I said while I respect what you are doing for your money you need to learn respecting how I chose to invest mine

I am aware of the risks but I am less worried compared to holding foreign currency and I do not think flood is coming, though I had never stopped anyone here believing that

The bolded sentense is what I said, do your own thing that you think is best for you, don't have to keep saying others are wrong

We all know what to do with the $$$...

Make sure it's generate better ROI....

But majority out there????
All planning to spend the $$$$...

Later older age... Retirement time...
Cry father mother 😜😋
*
But actually if dont cry f cry m you dont get the thing you wanted

Even this A3 thing also exists because of some group keep crying

Not that I agree with what they are advocating but they somehow made it

Well I guess from this weekend onwards can see some crowd at the mall again he he

Anyway, good that at least KWSP still do something other than giving in entirely as now A1 will become higher whenever you do one time reallocation or new contribution

The truth is often hard to digest. When I first face the truth I also find it hard to accept.

For me, I accepted the truth that ringgit is a depreciating currency despite what govt and BNM telling you. There is no way around it.

Ask yourself this very simple question. No need talk about USD. Just simple SGD. Where will ringgit be 10 years down the road?
Where will EPF returns be 10 years down the road? I already have my answer. This is what you need to answer yourself.

Trust me, I was once a upon a time a safe boy until I realise "safe" is not really safe.
*
You stick to what you believe and move on

I am good on what I am doing

Said you do you I do me but keep repeating the same action

What is your problem? LOL not tired keep repeating the same thing like a broken record?

I prefer to walk the middle path. Balanced portfolio. Diversify is the key. Keeping all eggs in one basket is risky no matter how good that basket might looks. Always multiple eggs in multiple basket. I am just kiasi and kiasu unker. Lol.
*
Ya you are not wrong

If your risk appetite is such then do accordingly and hope for the best but prepare to take the cost as well

High risk high return and vice versa

Indeed....

Different folks different stroke..... problem with some folks don't understand or don't want to understand EPF mandate and expect epf to do miracles for every needs.

The way they condemn it as if they can do better job managing such needs at that scale balancing all needs ....at country level machinery
*
Ya like hoping a retirement fund such as EPF to give super high return but expect capital guaranteed lol... be realistic mah

Well some just give out so called advice as if he is the pro without having to take any responsibility

We know what is best for us and do accordingly

Afterall they might not even have much in EPF and who knows what is the real motive behind

lol if know yiu long enough.. no I do not and even yes that is no level of trust for some random financial guru wannabe dude over an online forum

you can help by just keeping your so called opinion to yourself

that is your opinion, you think you are helping but it does not

you had your opportunity to voice your opinion but dont have to keep insisting it

no I am not gambling my EPF money

You says 1mil nothing

How about those having 10k or less in their EPF??? Go jump 14 floor end their life??

I read in newspaper today (yes me still kinda old school)... One lady got only 3k balance in account 2.... Yet want to withdraw that (via account 3 facilities)....
*
Don't say RM1m in EPF

How many actually has total net worth of RM1m in Msia?

Statistically majority of the country lifestyle is sustained by debt and housing loan until 65yo

Guess need to count the blessing if someone having RM1m in EPF and that's ~RM5,000 not a lavish lifestyle but if single (or spose have his or her own RM1m) debt free I see no prob for a modest lifestyle

I dunno about the statistic..

but the place i work, my client they all... really really rich. I can see in Malaysia, there are really A LOT....you will really surprise how many rich ppl in malaysia. I mean real rich. 50 years old and above . not those nonsense young social media forex traders or those celebrate cat birthday at LV store.

but what i see a lot (maybe among the client i deal with) is actually 5% of Malaysian population tongue.gif  tongue.gif
*
Ya you had already answered it

What you are looking at are only a friction of the population and only a friction of the population is super rich while the rest are either barely earning enough to survive or poor

Nevertheless, EPF is not a tool to get you super rich but to 'HELP' you plan for your retirement

HELP only, no guarantee, ownself need to be responsible also biggrin.gif

because I don't transfer back to account 1 & 2  tongue.gif

actually individuals..
don't know how to plan financially. served you right... to "die" from lack of retirement $$$
*
We look at them like that but they also look at us like we are weird

I used to attend a training for language and when intro I said la I like to plan for my future etc

The trainer was like looking at me like I am a weirdo and said why you want to plan bla bla bla

Another thing is now very easy for young gen to earn, influencer la, live la, tiktok la can get fast money, easy come easy go

And in some places freshies think their money has no value, salary so low but property so expensive might as well I YOLO with my salary go travel and buy iPhone

Biar la.. if they decided to not plan I think no point la I lecture or what waste my time, when retired please take up the consequences, thats all

They wanted more from acct 2 but there is capped if your acct 2 is less than 3k where you entitled max 1k only. Well that what most of them going for. Meaning in total their overalls are low unless they just withdraw them for housing recently...

I went to kwsp recently and saw the crazy ques and the ridiculous inquiries when many just showing their app balance and checking their funds.... and talking about what they going to shop after the withdrawal... thought I heard new phone....

thats why some even scolding saying this is stupid padahal Akaun 2 aku dah kosong niat aku nak amik dari Akaun 1 kenapa tak bukak Akaun 1

those wanted to save even you gave the option early early to witdraw or reduce cont% also die die want to fill form and contribute 13%

those wanted to spend will hope to take all out and will not stop at akaun 2 ke akaun 3

Looking at the long Q & crowds in EPF office

Was thinking minimal 10bil with around 5mil members.....
*
Yup MYR8.8b SAHAJA... AND... that's the amount moved to A3 so withdrawn out from EPF might be lesser since some still park & see

But also because most of the ppl got not much left in A2 thanks to MCO special one-off only no more next time life saving withdrawal?
