the flagship DX might use the new sony 20mp sensor...that should allow it to have greater burst...but guess have to wait and see tongue.gif

yup, need to upgrade the DX lineup..
i am stuck with D300s for Dx setup, not going to D7000 because it feels.. light..
i like the fast D300s but i like the video option that the D7000 have..

well, lets hope the D7100 or D400 can be a good replacement..
and lenses too! no new lens for Dx liao~

as for the Fx no need lah.. enough with D4 and D600 dulu lah..
maybe make a 2470VR or something, but i dont think there's much use n having VR in that range on FX

When you shoot with D800, VR helps tongue.gif The 36MP with high pixel density sensor isn't exactly forgiving to handshake, let alone mirror slap.

Yes, I noticed this happening with fast primes especially (f/1.4~f/1.8) but speed light AF nailed for my other zooms f/2.8 or f/4 without issue.

so then its not me alobe la smile.gif glad to know that..and yeah, with the 24-70, not problem nailing even small items at f2.8

true that!

usually 1/50 is enuf for my 50mm (12mp), but now i need atleast 1/80 to reduce the shake blur. not that noticable on normal viewing tho, but if one wants superb results, stay on the safe side loh laugh.gif

Since I heard many good user reviews here, should I upgrade from 50mm f/1.8D to f/1.8G?

Oh ya, is the nikon 24-70mm good lens to be invest? I hardly to use my kit lens now due to addicted with prime lens tongue.gif

Wanna get a nice zoom lens for myself.

imo, the 24-70G lens is really a very good lens for events. where u need the mid range versatility, on FX, its really sharp wide open.

its a workhorse of a lens. very good for jobs, superb investment.

just that for now, im abandoning mine due to primes oso tongue.gif

primes' good if one knows how to anticipate the event. if not, the 24-70G loh tongue.gif

im replying to my earlier post myself due to nobody replied tongue.gif

anyways, tried and tried it again n again, it seems that the middle AF is giving me quite accurate results. atleast 8/10 in focus which is good enough imo.

but i found the culprit behind this - the AF assist light that comes from my speedlight(s) (im using the SB700 and SB910 for the tests), once i turned off the AF assist light from the flashgun, things seems to be in good focus. im quite happy about this.

so..any of u is going thru this also? does this means my speedlights' AF assist light arent accurate? (note that i use 2 different speedlights and it gives me almost the same out of focus results, i had to put the AF fine tune on -20 when im using speedlight+AF assist from the speedlight, once AF assist is off, no fine tune is needed to nail a shot - using the 50mm 1.8G @ f2)

any thoughts is appreciated! thumbup.gif

Hahha Tony! Sorry!! Busy la with CNY and house visiting and other activities tongue.gif

Uhmm I normally shoot with AF-C 3d tracking so theres no AF light from my SB910..

Uhmm Actually I do even miss focus from my 16-35 F4! Deng!

The only primes I have is a zeiss 35mm 1.4 which is manual focus so I couldn't really comment on that and the 50mm 1.8 rarely use it unless i go traveling smile.gif

I still haven't sent my D800 for check up! Died half way while shooting in the rain in December 2012! Scared the hell out of me! LOL Manage to revive it back after 5 days!
