Hello guys..this might be redundant from my thread posted, but i was wondering if the d90 is still relevant for capturing fast jets during LIMA. Planning to pair it with a 70-300mm.Havent been shopping since the d80 d90 d60 era. Now all the numbers are so mind boggling.

Similarly priced nikons would be the D5200 (2399). Any suggestions?a bit in a rush since LIMA will be on the 26th.

My current kit is a D80 + 135mm kit lens

Thanks in advance guys!

Love the flare man  wub.gif
I would probably crop the photo to make it vertical, and not showing the photographer on the right, and the blurred aunty on the left.. but that's just my noob opinion la haha  laugh.gif

if you can get a 2nd hand d7000/d300, it'll be better.. but the most limiting thing between d90 & 70300 will be the lens.. especially the older tamron/sigma 70300 (rm400-600 new) ... those lenses are slow to focus but not impossible. you will have a harder time to take more fast moving/action pics.

for fast action, u need fast body: D300/D300s, D700
and fast focus lens.. the Nikkor 70300 VR quite expensive.. but worthwhile

Currently i am planning to get the 70300 nikon with VR. combined budget for D90 + 70300 would be around RM3600 which is quite way over my initial budget of rm2.5k.

Is the D90 slow? i remembered a few years ago a friend of mine with a D90 managed to get some pretty impressive pics although of course, skills play a big part in it. The D90 used to be a high end body right? Struggling to control my budget at the moment.. sad.gif
