Does D5100 support support live tethering when connected to a PC? What software can do that? I know for Lightroom it only supports controlling the camera settings, but no live view in LR.

Nikon Camera Control Pro doesn't support it I think. Anyone had experience?

Anyone? blush.gif

help..help...

someone can intro me to macro level shots...new to dslr with d3100...help...

want to take good macro photo with d3100...

how about Meike AF Extension Tube (12mm, 20mm, 36mm)? icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif
*
I don't have much pics .. but some old pics of D3100 + Tamron SP90 and/or Raynox 250
Nowadays rarely have time to go out and take macro shots ... close to one year already I think .. haha.

Tamron SP90 / Meike Ext Tube / Raynox Filters are a good start ... at least for me.
If combine all of them, fuhh...super hard to take pictures without tripod and 'limited' ISO range. ISO3200 is the best we can use on D3100. *sigh* ... need more light and steady objects to compensate.
Shooting at small apertures like f/32 or lesser ... is very hard loh. rclxub.gif

Would love to get the Nikkor 105mm but dont have the budget lah. Rarely play with macro anyway. Will get it one day (urghh). Hehe.

Not quite macro but with SP90

With Raynox on 16-85 I think

Plus in the US, pro lenses have Nikon USA 5 year warranty.. and big retailers give their own long-term/extended warranty... this can be upto 3-5 years..maybe more.. i was like WTH.. here its only one year?

yeah i know the holy "UNFILLED WARRANTY" ...

lets say I need to send in a 24-70 or 18-105 ... both of those lenses are still in production.. i fill it to a certain date and send it in.. it will work (for the time being)

what if I want to send in a 70200 VR1? lets say the production of the lens stopped 3 years ago and replaced by the VR2 version. Then I filled it to a certain date so that it is still within warranty period.. guess what bro? IT WONT WORK.. they know when the last batch is produced and sold, and if it's too long like 2+ years after the last batch.. they would just deny your "UNFILLED" warranty card..

take for instance, if I still have an unfilled warranty card for d70s.. shakehead.gif enuf said. think about it

that why "5 years Nikon USA warranty" works rather than an "Unfilled warranty card" bro

afaik from my friends abroad in japan & the us.. japan dslr and lenses prices both 2nd hand and new are at least the same or a bit more expensive than malaysia..MOST shops are selling at these prices unless you know the right people to get much cheaper prices..usually malaysian traders/bulk sellers know those "right people" and got cheap prices for both 2nd hand and new.. although new "the warranty cant be used here"

my other friend in the US got a cheaper price for dslrs and lenses, and said got much better deals on kit packages (body + lenses + memory card + other accs) plus can easily add on extra warranty... and afaik most nikon lenses sold there are specifically made for the US market only and have serial numbers unique only to the US .. with the letters "US" before the serial numbers

well what can we do , Malaysia leh , no choice but to play Unfilled warranty only lo , take for example my altec lansing speaker (i know its out of topic) , damn hard to find service center , like no one in Malaysia know how to service Altec Lansing speaker , feel like just because 1 speaker spoil , need to buy whole new set of speaker , and this is just plain stupid , i sure hope that Malaysia have better connections with Nikon and whatever other brands so that we the customer won`t suffer like this .
