F1 no 1 fan... thumbup.gif can't wait new season to start... petronas merc will win this season... rclxms.gif yes...yes.. F1 win is not decided by what petrol you fill in, its down to the car aerodynamics...

shell i think the most advertise petrol company, but still their fuel not so advance as it seems. i've tried 4 kinds of car with shell,(merc cgi, vw polo, honda vtec, kelisa all i get is a little power but very bad in fuel saving...but petronas test from all these cars less pickup but good in FC.

thats why people avoid these petrol and go for something else that can give better for both worlds power and mileage...

I also wanna change to other brand actually but it seemed like i am too get used of using it (and also because of collecting the Bonus Link points sweat.gif )

For my car, I had just tried Shell and Petronas. Didn't tried BHP or Petron yet.

Maybe for my wife new car, will give Petronas a try and see how it goes since same engine as ours thumbup.gif

like me petronas, shell, bhp, petron is easy to get... but caltex no...i think caltex is not so many station now since esso and mobil already 1 as petron...but i would give it a try...but i have another teori, petrol have relation with engine oil. if lets say one say petronas is the perfect petrol for elantra... if u and i use petronas and it doesn't give the any impact on power and FC so it is because we are using the different engine oil.
just my 1 cent teori sweat.gif what do you think?

Yup, u r right. The quality of the engine oil do play a part of the FC/Power with the petrol we pump.

With the bad quality of our local petrol ron95 etc .. it's actually crucial to use a good engine oil to help protect our engine and filter out the carbon.

true...got to test them all and then will know which is better...and another teori is that if combine between petrol brand also can give better mileage...for instance, i fill petron whereby in my tank still have petrol shell.(about 2 bars) and it give me 450km rm70 petron.

now in my tank all petron, fill petron another rm70, couldn't get 450km..driving condition is the same... means here that if want to do testing need to empty current fuel in tank untill fuel light come out then fill another brand of petrol. if not it will give inaccurate results in FC.

it happens to previous with my honda vtec type r engine...i get better mileage(power is retained) when i mix bhp and petronas... bhp mix with others don't work...

its rclxub.gif. but its unpractical to mix fuel as u will waste fuel going to 2 stations...unless u mix petrols that is next to each other...but still its rclxub.gif

but i've done it as its the only choice i have if not the honda will be underpowered and get worst FC. people say I have the best FC for my honda type r car. the secret was mix fuel...

Eh .. this i can't comment much cause never mix oil and all the while haven't heard anyone did that and get positive feedback before.
Interesting. Let me dig around and see .. biggrin.gif
But like u mentioned, a bit rclxub.gif rclxub.gif to mix the ratio cause u need to visit the two petrol station quite frequent then sweat.gif
But nice to know that someone did this and had good FC thumbup.gif

Mine FC is really worst..been driving the car for almost half year.. 42L petrol can only last for 360KM Max... cry.gif everytime I pump full tank RM80.. the MFD will only show 400KM availabe ( last 50KM will drop fast and show none). the petrol consumption is on par with 408T cry.gif cry.gif

You can get some tips from civic_spoon bro .. nod.gif
But depends on your route and driving habits end of the day.
But 360km means really bad traffic.
I drove 1 hr with 25km to cover every morning to work.
45-50mins in jam. only 10 mins smooth cruising but still can clock at least 440km with 75-80 fuel.

I think it's somehow related to my short distance route mayb??.. daily 10km from home to work.. no traffic jam.. only 2 traffic with short stopage, 10 to 15 min reach office..if my wife drive to work (her work place is more than 20KM from home).. she tend to get better mileage ( ask her how much she say better but dunno the figure...duh doh.gif )...Also I'm a bit heavy foot..but previously I do try on to be gently on the pedal and always watch for the eco lite on.. does not help much.. only only~10km extra..mayb need light foot surgery sweat.gif

now thats weird? hmm.gif always after 1k km service FC should be better. if still use same engine oil helix h7, to compare previous, u must certain that ur driving style must be same, your journey route must be same, ur petrol must be the same, traffic condition must be same, car passenger must be same, then u can compare. if the above yes...need to send the car to SC. coz some owner already change ECU... hmm.gif would we all need to change new ecu? if it says improvement...would that be unfair if certain people get the improved ECU?

Hyundai need to recall all elantra if they should...or need to clarify which car batch need to change ecu, not that we the customers need to experience all the hassle of bad FC. some people maybe dont notice it. some will take a while noticing it...

hyundai need to be professional in handling cases like this...

what do think guys bout change the ecu or resetting the ecu? hmm.gif

Change ECU? Who? I haven't heard anyone changed ECU before.
But don't think to that extreme. hmm.gif
