could not agree more rclxms.gif My family keep asking me to choose between nissan almera and vios. i was like  sweat.gif Keep concerning about resale value and reliability. I plan to use it for long term, and i love it. So i just  tongue.gif . I dun see almera has greater demand than elantra, i rather drive back my myvi (if nissan almera is the only choice). Vios dun like it too on the spec and build quality and design, and old engine somemore, need topup around rm3000 for the navigation system.  doh.gif

The 2011 model has an Eco light and has no effect on the car's operation. The 2012 model has an Eco mode that changes the throttle (gas pedal) mapping - making it slower to react to pedal movement, and changing the transmission shift points. Eco mode in the 2012 models is said to provide a fuel economy gain of a few percent.
My 2011 has the Eco light, and it's usually on all the time except at speeds below 5mph or when shifting manually (ShifTronic).

So you are correct - the 2011 model just has an Eco light that has no effect on the car. I tell passengers that when the light is on, the accelerator pedal isn't floored. That's about the extent of it.

And congrats on the purchase. It's a great car.

UR bars is a MUST for elantra (strut and anti-roll), it significantly solve the fishtail problem, yet it makes your car heavier.
for me buffer not really help, but its cheap tho, so no harm to install.

I noticed that in other country, the front headlamp signal lights are always on or act as a daylight for elantra. Is it true?
