BTW, have any of you guys came across the 2012 Sram Red WifLi in KL? I doubt that Pedalspot has it in store. Last time I check they only have the normal Red. Wiggle has some WifLi but the RD is for Force and Rival. Would be weird if I downgraded the RD though.

my bird watching skills might be rusty... but i can catch a fellow bird watcher in the act, still....

maybe he is on s-works equivalent roller blades... or he had rocket boosters installed on his roller blades...

haven't seen Red WiFLi yet... no Red users can bare to install a pie plate on their wheel... in fact i haven't seen Force WiFLi as well... rival, i think maybe i've seen it before... just maybe...because it looks almost the same as apex from afar...

i believe they can order some Red WiFLi in if you have interest... might have to wait though...

gokiso hubs don't need ceramic bearings lar.. it has bearings made of magic dusts which explains why it is so smooth...

This were from my friend in FB....

QUOTE
Was testing the bike after serviced by XXXX shop. They replace the old components with a new nano-teflon gear cable and TAYA Ti-gold chain.

OMG, so this is how it suppose to feels when changing gears. It was so smooth, no noise, no taping nor jerking. It's like a fuel injection auto car changing gears. Hardly notice when it switched gears. Can't wait to test it on my long ride tomorrow.
QUOTE
Rode 140km with the new Taya chain. It's seriously smooth.Drive train contributes 4% of resistance. That is extra 8 watts of free speed. Sweet

Any comment? who uses those gears above?

can pair with gokiso hubs!

chain i am not a believer...

cables... absolutely... teflon coated cables is by far still the cable to beat for smooth shifting...unfortunately, not a lot of people put emphasis on it... if you can have it fully shielded, even better...

only problem with teflon coated cables is that the coating can come off and actually cause coarse shifting...

if money is no object.. my next cable will be powercordz mated to alligator i-links

nokon's are flickin expensive... upwards of RM300 only for shift or brake cables...they are actually of the same concept as i-links but nokon is more famous in the pro ranks...

it is also a blardy biatch to setup as the nodes have to be linked up like women's jewelry...you will be swearing your way or most likely finding a spanner installed in your carbon top tube of your scultura evo if you measure your housing length wrongly a couple of times...

the good thing about either one is that it no longer needs to be following the natural flex of the conventional cable housing and you can twist the cable into any bends you like to shape it (or, i think i-link can't do this...never really tried yet)

i-links is available here from velocipede for about RM200 upwards for a single set...which is around RM40 more than the SRAM professional cables... and the lining runs from the shifter exit onwards while the SRAM runs from the first frame grommet entries...

nokon is used by Team CSC more notable ones and i-Link personally by none other than alberto contador

there is not much info to look for except discussions in forum about it....

ilinks and nokon's are basically the cables to go for if you are looking for fully shielded ones because you ride in the wets and stuff like that...

else, i believe the cable itself is not a whole lot better than say the normal jagwire road racers...

we are talking about a RM400++ kit here for complete brake and shifting cables anyways...

the i-link has 2 types though... mini and the normal i-links... 4mm and 5mm cables.
