We are getting fully 8mbps as TM put the cap higher at 10mbps. As for 4mbps the cap vary from ngam2 at 4mbps or 5mbps the highest.

They will give you a 10Mbit port else you won't get even 8Mbit speed after ADSL overhead

as what i know/heard/understood, when u subscribe 4Mbps, u will probably get only 3.5~3.7Mb unless they give u 5Mb port.

so do 1Mbps u will get onli 0.8~ unless they give u a 2Mb port.

so i curious, they will straight give u 10Mb even u are not asking/begging for it?

I had been a 1Mbit and 4Mbit previously and 8Mbit user now

They gave me a 1536 port when I am using 1Mbit, 5120 when 4Mbit and 10237 now, I never beg, maybe the technician is good to me

So, unless they give you the port speed higher than your subscribed plan, else you wont get your advertised speed.

i too, upgraded from 1Mbit to 4Mbit. going to 8Mbit very soon.

TM gave me ~2Mb When i was 1Mbit, then ~5Mbit when 4Mbit.

However, I face phone line problem last 2 weeks. Phone broke down, internet unstable n run in 2Mbps. I report back to TM, they fix for me, but the downstream went back to 4096. I feels sad until the lowyat TM seller (ahcheap) told me my place is eligible to upgrade to 8Mbit now (which is not upgrade-able in previous months).

So i gonna do the upgrade now!!! lol cant wait.

ohyeah! before i stop, in my case i mentioned above, i got 4096Kbps downstream, can i report n ask for ~5Mb and went back to how it used to be?

I believe blacktubi has answered it all smile.gif

Just some ppl are lucky enough and some may not even they are begging for higher hardcap. In my case according to the installer, the decision to put higher, equal or lower is depending on TM side.

Sometime it depends on your cable quality, my copper cable is broken now, still waiting TM to send someone to fix

My SNR Margin is just 6dB but I still able to use it.

Just sometime my Sync Speed will drop
