QUOTE(storm88 @ Jan 22 2013, 04:42 PM) Ammageddon claimed that they are SG's product. But made in China, LOL. BTW, I suspect that the hornet is made by same OEM as this "gaming brand". http://www.waishehome.cn/thread-60926-1-2.html http://s.taobao.com/search?q=%C1%E8%B1%AA%...8_8935934&unid= EDIT: I mean this board (also from the same brand). http://www.waishehome.cn/thread-69404-1-2.html Really quite a lot of similarities between it and the hornet. The arm rest, the fonts, the wire channels and so on all same with hornet. This post has been edited by Human10: Jan 22 2013, 05:25 PM |

QUOTE(Human10 @ Jan 22 2013, 04:36 PM) I touched them at LYP b4. Ah didn't know the Hornet cost that much.. not worth it at that price point then.As you stated, one is using the fake clone switch. If I need one, I would already ordered Rapoo V7 (the ancestor/1st among fake switch mech kb, which probably less than RM130 shipped). Hornet is using genuine cherry mx and really solid (IINM, either one of the top or base case are metal, not too sure bout it), but at the price tag of RM450, overbranding level >90000, unknown OEM (but it is using square shaped LED, so potentially to be related to Keycool or the new gaming brand called what "凌豹终结者" something), edgy/sharp case random coating and many more uncertainties, how about no? .... What about the coolermasters? There have about 5 mech keyboards at decent prices. |

QUOTE(bv2427 @ Jan 22 2013, 09:26 PM) Then get the no backlight, full-size Rosewill RK9000. RM249 if promo is still on, RM299 if not from Heavy Arm @ SS15. I saw it before, I don't like the mini-usb socket being so exposed on the RK9000, its flimsy and might break if the kb drops or after a sharp tug on the cable. |

Lol. Define exposed. I don't know what kind of desktop setup you have, but if your keyboard drops often and you tug a lot on the cable then... No further comment. Unless you want something like the Quick Fire Rapid. ![]() Exposed? ![]() Pinjam your image kai. Or a cable that is not detachable like a Filco. Is QuickFire TK / Rapid using oem key ? as in sizes. So far I only know that quickfire tk using diff modifier for bottom rows. Any more ideas ? |

Apparently MX Brown Switches aren't really what i fancy for
my hands easily make and mistake here because its rather too soft for me.... >_> well i am using BlackWidow Tournament Stealth Edition 2013 so i guess not much quality key caps here or it is just that brown switches are really soft? the features are neat and i get it for RM135 so not a single complain just that i feel it still softer. a big leap for me since the last keyboard are Gigabyte Force K3 so sifu here, should i let go of this mechanical keyboard(which i can still resell at RM240 at my friend) or should i just test around first? |

QUOTE(zongeva @ Jan 22 2013, 10:31 PM) its not that i don't like,i like it very much compare to ''enlarged rubber dome'' gigabyte features. Its tenkeyless and have nice pouch bag so i can easily keep it inside that at night before sleep to evade from dust and micro usb remove-able. the only problem here is that the softness of the keys(brown switches) is not suit me or i just have to get used to it? |

QUOTE(Neo|ofGeo @ Jan 22 2013, 10:35 PM) its not that i don't like,i like it very much compare to ''enlarged rubber dome'' gigabyte features. When I first use Brown switch (coming from HHKB Topre). I also have the same feeling like you. But after some time. I getting use to it already. It is indeed a bit ligther to me. I would suggest maybe put a rubber o-ring if your bottom out often. I type a lot so the Tactile Bump do help me a lot.Its tenkeyless and have nice pouch bag so i can easily keep it inside that at night before sleep to evade from dust and micro usb remove-able. the only problem here is that the softness of the keys(brown switches) is not suit me or i just have to get used to it? I got a Maltron with Black Swtiches now, wow.. That is just too stiff and heavy to me. Still cant get use to it. This post has been edited by mikelanding: Jan 22 2013, 10:54 PM |
