I'm waiting for my Preve CFE. I'm also a Exora Bold CFE owner.

Confirmed that the aircond problem is due to thermoamp.

The symptoms are
a) smell of "wet clothes" (bau hapak) when first turning on the aircond
b) when idle or just on startup, only normal air and no cold air till you rev or get the car moving
c) the aircond is supercold when on the highway outstation

The thermoamp failure is common in Exora. I've claimed twice. First in 1k service and another time in 10K service. I was told that there is a new thermoamp module from Nov 2012. Dealer service centres may not have this improved unit yet so you need to go to branch service centres.

Mutiara Damansara takes the whole day but I was told quite fast. They have to get the aircond specialist from Section 13 to do it. They will normally accumulate a few cars with the same issue when you are booking for service and it can take quite long.

There is no such thing as fast service from branch service centres. Dealer service centres might be faster but hesitant to entertain warranty claims.

I was told by my regular mechanic that the aircond thermo amp issue is common for campro.

that's the one thing I don't like about branch service centres...one minor problem, one day....few minor problems...have to leave the car there...

anyway, thanks for the info..previously someone mention that the smell is common, advice me to put a charcoal cabin filter to filter the smell..

if dealer branch service our car, then they should help with the warranty claim as well. otherwise might as well send to edar to service and claim warranty at the same time.

The smell is common because it is a common problem. Just that not all will be told that it is actually a problem and can claim warranty. Perhaps I was told about it cos I complained about the lack of cold air on startup or idling in traffic.

It is unreasonable to have this smell in a new car. Once changed, no more smell like you have a wet pair of jeans in your cockpit.

Not all dealer service centres have the full equipment and spare parts. Not all will have the 'machine' to update the software as well cos it cost alot of money.

But if just normal service, can drop in and get it done then. No need to wait for 1 week.

Just becareful cos they might offer u the showroom unit or worst the recon test drive unit.

Hi all,

My car's rain sensor starting to acted weird.
For light, I always ON/OFF manually, for windscreen wiper, I use auto.
But recently (this month) the sensor trigger my wiper when (I guess) bright sunlight shines into the sensor.
Hot and bright daytime, wiper suddenly operate by itself.
It had been acted like this no less than 10 times.

Those who owned any car with auto rain sensor, can you tell me is this consider normal?
Should I report to SC? I don't know how to replicate this behavior to show to SC lar...
