@XaViErX, means as long as I have custom recovery, specifically TWRP, means I'm good to go with those custom ROMs am I right?
yeah, I'm still on 4.1.1, I'll try by using your method. Thanks.

Correct but you still need to use odin to flash twrp

You must download the firmware before hand prior on using the Mobile Odin. Just a head up in case you forget. If you are using a custom recovery, you can't set your status to Normal in the system. If that is not your concern then just go ahead. biggrin.gif

hmm, can u enlighten me what do you mean I can't set my status to Normal in the system? Where is the setting of setting the status to Normal in the system? Any pro's of con's of not having that? hmm.

Your sig shows you have a Phenom rig...isn't that a Windows rig?

If your status is not "Normal" you can't get OTA updates and you may have warranty issues. tongue.gif

Just flash Du@lNote. Notice its faster than DLL7. Like the blue theme notification bar. Plenty of toggles. Nice.

Hi! I updated my phone to 4.1.2 official rom thru Odin last night. Unfortunately I can't connect to wifi - it keeps getting stuck on "Obtaining IP address".

Have  Googled..and all the info I got is to replace the wifi files with the files from 4.1.1 stock. Any ideas how I can repair this bug without going back to 4.1.1? Thanks!
*
Problem above solved by reflashing! Thanks those who suggested this. Had a minor heart attack when I flashed the wrong ROM. >.< but lucky managed to stop and reflash using the correct ROM. phew. Anyway. All is good with my wifi connection now. rclxms.gif

Now that Cruzerlite rewarded me with USD40 gift card (for the troubles of sending me a 1 unit of Note 1 casing, instead of Note 2 last time), I'm tempted again!

Is Samsung pre-empting competition with this kind of pricing?

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Samsung-Gal...150-200_id39012

If the Note 8" can be, say, $300, this means either it's got no Radio or has some crap hardware, or we can expect Note3 to be a bit cheaper than what we paid for Note1 and Note2.

Uh, look at what Nexus 7 did to the pricing for the tablet market. It seems the Nexus pricing effect is in play here. And anyway, except maybe for the first test run, aren't almost all other batches made in China? icon_rolleyes.gif

I suppose it makes sense for Samsung to maintain as high a price as possible, but competition is good for everybody smile.gif

Haha. Samsung controls the entire manufacturing stack, from the display, cpu, RAM, everything. This means they actually have a very low cost, which they sell at a high price.

So it depends on how low they are willing to go on price, since at any rate the Note 8" is targeted against the ipad mini. Hope the pricing carries over to Note3 smile.gif

After "taxes" and whatnots, it may be RM1599 thereabouts, but if the spec is similar to the Nexus 7, with the addition of the Wacom digitizer, it may end up being RM1399 ? But you see, this means that the Wacom digitizer should have come way down in price compared to when it was first launched with Note1.

display - no idea using which manufacturer
CPU (processor) - Exynos = Samsung own mobile processor
RAM - also using Samsung own RAM if not mistaken
other stuff - no idea also

have low cost and sell high price = earn a lot profit = marketing strategy whistling.gif
and off course everybody want to earn a lot profit instead earn lower profit because nobody will say I got a lot money, I want earn lesser laugh.gif

Of course bro. However, if they can afford to reduce the price to kill off some competition, they will. Display should be from their display manufacturing unit.
