QUOTE(joytest @ Jan 24 2013, 12:14 AM) In 2005, Sony was found to have installed rootkits on customer's PCs when you played a music CD you bought from them. This was an attempt to control what you can and cannot play on YOUR OWN PC. They did this twice if I'm not mistaken. And furthermore, you look at Sony stuff, they usually tend to make it totally incompatible with anything else (micro four-thirds vs alpha), and they fought HD-DVD with BD-ROM. HD-DVD was backwards compatible with DVD, and royalty free I think. Sony pushed BD-ROM with royalties to them...and go see VHS vs Betamax... So, HTC with locked bootloaders which are unlockable, s-on/s-off which are well known methods sound a lot less aggressive in screwing users over than Sony. I remember that, last time Sony Ericsson phones used to have a very tiny Memory Stick Micro M2 card slot .. .which is not standard. Other branded phones all using micro sd only. When switch to new phone other than Sony, have to re-buy the memory card... price wise, expensive lor, but product quality great. And If i'm not mistaken, many years back. Samsung phones price no more than RM2,000.. now... Note 2...

Oh yes thanks for reminding me of the memory stick.... 8Gb usd - RM 30 8Gb ms - RM 100 (as an example) Yes, expensive. Quality???? I don't know. You are storing 0's and 1's. Why do people want to get shafted by stuff like this.......coz it looks sexy yesssss Samsung, they did well by improving and giving us what we wanted. I used to have some loyalty to Nokia but as is well documented, they shot themselves in the foot big-time and now have to suckle on M$ to stay alive.

Can intro to all the fearful newbies. 2Gb is pretty standard for JB TW roms in Note2. In contrast, my Mediapad JB CM10 rom is only 185mb in size This post has been edited by joytest: Jan 24 2013, 12:51 AM

I recall that old Samsung phones had some ancestor to Kies that was not entirely compatible with anything else, and needed a proprietary cable.

Coz otherwise I can't run my Allshare. Tried after Orange, confirmed counter was 1, Allshare won't work. TA 2.37....works again v2.37 seems to be the magic version.

This app is really cool, don't need to reboot in to recovery mode to do backup. Bada ?? never heard of it. Mind sharing any links for it.

Worst stll for 2.0 . U cant install apps unless u dl it from Samsung Apps . If u wanna install it without downloading , u have to flash it in . Here is an example below to flash any rom . . . If wanna flash theme , use this program or even install apps .

In download mode, the 3rd value is Normal though. In the current TA v2.55 I think, it tries to fool the checker service to revert status to Normal while in the OS, but it only works for a few hours.

The trick really works, I had it for several days and the status remains as Normal until I installed the Orange backup.

I meant the Samsung phones from 5 years ago. Man, that screen reminds me of the Phoenixtool for flashing Nokia roms. Used it a couple of times to "root" my N8. Left a bad aftertaste.
