I am 4th day into driving the focus sport +. I realized that the dry clutch powershift gear box tends to hunt for gears to decide downshift or upshift during slow down and acceleration at low speed. And it creates the rattling sensation and noise. Any owner experience that? It seems like a dry clutch problem or characteristics. Probably need better gear shift algorithm.

As I learn from various post I think this is completely normal and should be get better the more we drive...However this is the characteristic of dual clutch transmission.

Both Vw Golf and Focus has the dry double clutch gear box. Technically speaking, the operating and mechanical concepts shud be similar. Its the software algorithm that makes some differnces. My mk6 golf dgs shifting characteristics remain unchanged even I had loaded with latest software.  I was told that the mk7 golf does not have the mk6 golf gear shift jittering issue anymore.  I just got my focus. So far have not experience obvious jitter yet. Once the engine n clutch plate breakin I will try to observe to see ithas the similar charcharacteristics as vw golf.

Thanks bro. Hopefully could see more feedback for focus as time passes...

To anyone who owns a Midnight Sky Focus: how do you deal with having to re-spray parts of your car after minor accidents/bumps?

Do average spray paint body shops actually have the right paint for touch ups?

Or are you forced to go to official service center? And if so, is it expensive?

Hi,

I'm also experiencing this type of problem when my first 1 month. When i checked with my SA, he told this is common problem for the first 1K-2K mileage. Now 'm already reach 3K mileage and NO MORE rattling noise and smooth sailing rclxms.gif

I got the update last month on my Fiesta via SDAC PJ. It is improved, but does not completely solve those problems (noise and juddering).

I'll be asking for a clutch replacement soon, so let's see what that does.

For anyone having problem to allow Sync to read your sms from Android phone try this:

Unpair your phone, if you have it paired already, and delete it from the phone list in SYNC.
Re-pair your phone ( it worked with my S3 Samsung) with SYNC
When prompted to allow MAP on the phone, check the "Do not ask again" box and selected yes or Ok

Below the full procedure to pair your phone (Android) and get Sync reading your sms

Car
Get to the Phone Menu by pressing the “Phone” button.
Use the Tune knob to scroll through the menu to locate “System Settings” and press OK.
Press OK to get into “Bluetooth Devices”.
Press OK on “Add Bluetooth Devices”.
Press OK on Find SYNC, you will see a 6-digit PIN that you will have to enter in to your phone.

Phone
Locate and select your Settings.
Select “Bluetooth” and make sure it’s turned “On”.
Click “Scan” to search for SYNC. Once you see SYNC select it, and enter in the PIN displayed and click “Ok”.
After you go through the prompts on the vehicle make sure to check you phone to accept the transfer of your contacts and to allow MAP. If you don’t see them directly on your phones screen, slide down the notification bar at the top and they’ll be found their.

Hope is useful

Hi i just got my car 3 weeks ago and currently on 400km.My car too sometime produce this kind of rattling sound coming from the base of engine when driving at 20 to 30kmh.I think this is characteristic of dry clutch. The service man told me ppl complaint about it once they got the car but once u reach more than 2k,the sound should disappear.Finger crossed. There was time where i tried to control the accelerator actually help the car to go smoothly n w/o any noise.
