The official press release got mention "Multi-axis optical image stabilisation for both the front and rear cameras also helps ensure video footage smoother whether stationary or on the move."
I first thought it was software stabilisation, but then it mention optical, which is similar to 920's.
But no highlight on this OIS in yesterday announcement.


I actually saw a lot of windows phone related blog promoting this voting, so maybe a lot of voters are Windows Phone fans... I'm one of them

I read them a lot also, along with phonearena. A credible tech blog. But their comments section are filled with trolls, at least not as bad as gsmarena though. GSMarena is filled with trolls who cant even type proper English.

And they still try to protect Apple by arranging the list in Alphabetical order instead of arranging by the most votes.. Boooo!

Nowadays the trend in these blog sites is more and more Android fans. Read through the comment sure can see many people bashing Apple and praising Google. If Google wins in a lawsuit then they laugh at Apple. If Apple win then complain like crazy, scold the judge scold the patent system.

BTW I can't believe that Microsoft Surface RT gets the highest vote for tablet of the year. Surface RT is more like the flop of the year!

RT was a big no to me, especially when the apps is like only 15% of windows phone store. ==; I dont think i can even play my MKV-FLAC files with 10bit encoding on the tablet. Windows Media Player itself is notorious for not supporting even the most basic codecs.

I like Acer W510 more, RM 16XX get windows 8 full experience, but a bit underpowered. The design makes it look damn nice when placed together with my white Lumia 920. Im waiting to see what Nokia can offer this year before deciding on a windows tablet. Heard they wont reveal a tab in MWC - the speculation is that they delayed it because they wanna put in windows 8 into their tab instead of RT, which is a good thing.

most of those keep yelling for apps in reality actually using just the few, standard social apps, media players, picture-related apps and work apps.

got 9,999,999 apps in store also no use other than just to brag.

But WP8 lacking quality apps ...all the social apps(other than the native WP8 developers) barely any updates one...Twitter official one is rubbish...had to buy Rowi(which is very good) Facebook although the UI and idea is nice ...it sucks ...we still dont have a Facebook Messenger app ...Its the basic apps which counts...if all these apps solid then people complain also no use...No need to start about Instagram...gosh i really dont know whats wrong with MSOFT...they have a baby(WP8) but they are not nurturing it ...i really think WP is cool ...its just a shame that the devs arent playing nice

not many quality apps, i agreed...
but most ppl shouts out "no apps", not "no quality apps"
as usual, quantity > quality for many people

Oh yeah and one more thing....the live tiles got OS restriction update every 30 minutes only right? Seriouly think MSFT need to give us the option to choose which tile we want push updates and some in a time frame...apps like whatsapp all annoying...will receive like tons of notifications after dont know how long...thats why they had to use the Music api

most good dev still enjoying at other OS because got nice hardware and support. hopefully when next update, more of them will upgrade to WP8 development. currrently WP8 not very attractive including the hardware. thats why MS pushing nokia come out with more attractive hardware so more people and developers would want to join up.

I am not sure how the WP app works. But app like WeChat & AppDeal can send instant notification even I close the program. I doubt they are using Music api too.

From developers of view,
Android - A lot of end users. But it is quite hard to develop app as the developer need to test on many different devices. No offence, Android users expect everything is free and unlikely to purchase app too.
IOS - Easier to develop app, a lot of apps on market hence competiton but IOS users are likely to purchase app compare to Android users.
WP - Still lack of quality app. I can see many developers will jump on the WP bandwagon if WP manage to get at least 10% of the market. Now less competition, so a great app / games will sell like hot cake.

Someone needs to start v3. MS really needs to get their House in order. It seems like they work in silos. Skype is doing one thing and completely ignoring WP8, when they in fact are owned by MS. In corporate dabbledegook, MS should try to harness their competitive advantage but instead they enrich their competitors ecosystem. Video messaging went with Apple ecosystem first. How the fu*k did Balmer let that happened? This empire building by each business units is really killing MS especially WP8 and Balmer should be accountable for all of the fiascos.

I think the demands are a bit overwhelming when everyone demands this and that for windows phone and Microsoft cant meet the deadline, but i did notice that Microsoft and Nokia did take note on the demands of their customers. Wp7.8 update was the best example - bluetooth sharing feature is added to Nokia's Lumias, Nokia added in that feature, while other models like HTC, Samsung, didnt get bluetooth sharing. I do believe the next big update for WP8 will include notification center.

On apps, it's the problem with developers. Im kind of pissed that they are not making WP apps. Their reason: "No one uses it anyway". Oh, really? Fark U. The current FB app may not be as good as other OS's, but, at least, it doesnt crash often like android's and iOS's ones. I heard a lot of complaints about FB app crashing, it did get updates but when old bugs are solved new bugs appear.
