You got close any apps/games running background ?? Close all apps....it tends to be warm when playing games but other than that I have never encountered any heating

I notice this sometimes ...when I plug my headphones into the 920 jack and play music ...the sound is played externally rather than using my headphones...but when I remove the headphones and put it back again then no problems ....anyone faced a similar issue? It's a once in awhile thing ...I don't usually listen to music on my phone ...

have you tried other jacks? happened to me on my previous handphones but its the earpieces' jack problem, not the phone itself.

Yup, it did happen to me like twice before, probably it couldnt detect a device is plugged in, or a driver issue.

I had 2 battery status apps installed. One was from Tomas which worked nicely before the latest updates. After the latest updates, the battery drain is significant and I have identified it as coming from Battery Status and the option to collect data for the statistics. Once I disabled that function, the battery drain is back to normal. But obviously this basically made the graphing capability useless because the app is not collecting any data. As the adage goes, don't fix something that is not broken.

Due to this problem, I installed Battery (another app) but I believe it was polling the battery status every minutes (as I enabled it to run in the background). Last nigh I fully charge the phone by 10:30PM and disconnected it from the charger. At 6AM this morning, I had 18% left. This has never happened before so off to the bin with the Battery app.

I wish Microsoft can just do the battery percentage thing like iOS ... is that so hard to do? I know you want to be different, but trying to be different for different sake is plain stupid.

That's new to me. Im using something called Battery Status, it updates every 30 minutes ( i think...) or everytime your open the app, instead of live monitoring every minute. Some may not like it but i believe it will not drain much energy. My phone battery life under moderate usage has been stellar.

yeah I have Battery Status as well from Tomas. It was working fine before but I have just noticed that after the new update for the app, my drain is much faster. Once I disabled collecting the data, the drain is back to normal.

The app that seems to poll the battery in the background continously was called Battery (just battery, not battery status). I read in WMPowerUser that it was free so I downloaded it and it looks okay at first, but last night ... man 82% drain in 8 hours when I was sleeping is nonsense.

I am also using Battery by Enless where it contains 2 unique features:-
1. Alert when the battery is draining quickly
2. Show phone connectivity / shortcut

Are you using the same app ?

It happen only once where it drain 40% at night when I using the other battery app with chart. Forgot the name already, but I am not sure if the old battery app cause this.

I used to installed batt app oso, but then i realised, those app runs in background. And eat power oso. So i uninstalled unnessary app that works in background including those apps. My battery tahan longer than before, without batt app oso can notice.

last time i use earphone, listened to songs non stop at all when i was on bus trip to terengganu, from kajang to hentian putra then all the way to kemaman. Battery from 100% reached kemaman at 99 % left. That one oso i think cos i use to call my mom to pick me. And before i reach also my mom did sms me sudah sampai mana, how long before sampai etc. The trip took about 6 hours long.

yea..

however after some reading regarding charger ampere rating,
let say 2A charger and 1A charger,

actually the 2A stated is the maximum output the charger can produce,
the actual current value used when charging depends on the device being charged itself.

let say when u connect 2A charger to a phone, and the phone needs 1.5A that moment,
then the charger will be able to supply 1.5A without the charger itself getting damage...

another sample is, let say the phone or device require 3A to charge the device, the 2A charger will try to supply 3A, but the charger circuit will get hot because it is supplying more current than it can produce. the charger also may not be able to supply stable enough 3A.. and the phone or device may oso wont get charged at all or even if its charging, it will require longer time to charge..

so, buying a higher rated amp charger is ok, but buying less rated amp charger definitely have side effects..

some say if wanna use usb cable that is connected to a ciggarete port (not computer), u need to short the middle two pins in order to enable 2A charging.. if not, it will only supply 500mA..

the two middle pins actually is for computer protection, it prevents any usb device to draw more than 500mA from the computer to protect the motherboard.. (if not protect, mobo will get hot and fry cos supplying too much current)

of course, after u modify the pins, dont connect to computer anymore! use it specifically as wall charger cable or ciggarette port cable only!

Sounds logic. But I never heard that a charger will try to supply more output than it is capable to.
This is your theory/guessing, or actual knowledge? hmm.gif

i read on the net lol..
but the source seems credible and has alot of knowlwdge..

forgot the source lol.. cos i open many2 websites to verify this..

a) it may not be able to produce more amps, either it require longer charging time or not charging at all, depends on the phone circuit
b) it may able to draw more current, but the charger will damage or get hot.. or the current wont steady..

thats what i read..

u can ask to lowyat engineer in /k to confirm this.. lol laugh.gif

imagine buying a chapalang PSU for your computer, vs 1000W psu from branded company..

use chapalang PSU, how to run latest most powerful graphic card..
those cards require more current...

if u use chapalang PSU, same oso, either
a) u cant play games on pc at all
b) the chapalang PSU damage

wattage oso means VOLTAGE X CURRENT RATING.. the higher the wattage, the larger the current rating since voltage value is fixed at certain volts..
