Hmmm.. If compare the Asus G55VW-IX190H and the Lenovo Y500, which one is a better option ?  hmm.gif sorry hehe im not a tech wizz  sweat.gif
*
The G55Vw is better than the Y500 in terms of graphic processing power if the Y500 is only running on the single GT650M. Howeverm when you put the 2nd GT650M GPU in, then it will significantly outperform the GTX660M in the Asus.
The Y500 is cheaper too tongue.gif

Upgrade warranty to 3 year on site. Select MS Office when you buy from Dell Online. Within your budget.
Price is RSP, negotiable (if you buy from Dell Online, just online chat).

Gaming performance depends on the graphic card more nod.gif
If you have money to spare... Upgrade to 8gb.. Otherwise... 4gb is good icon_rolleyes.gif

That G55VW-IX190H is also expensive due to the 3D screen. Personally I don't see the point of a 3D screen in a 15" screen tongue.gif

You want large screen size, but not too heavy. (So what size do you have in mind? 13" 14" 15"? What is the weight that you can handle? smile.gif

2. Budget: below rm4000
3. Usage: I wanna bring it around, so it have to be portable. Not gonna play games on it so graphic is not a problem. But sometimes i would like to connect it to HDTV and watch 1080p movies.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: Nothing smaller than 13". I need bigger screens for convenience.

Asus - generally quite good in terms of spec / price. But warranty support in Malaysia is dodgy.
Toshiba - I find it expensive for the specs, but some owners like the design. Also make sure you are ok with the keyboard. Personally, my fingers revolt from typing on current Toshiba keyboard laugh.gif

Good after sale service - In Malaysia, that mean Dell, Lenovo (if upgrade warranty), HP ....
Your current laptop overheating could be due to dust clog up in internal fan, air inlet / outlet. Clean it up, re-apply thermal paste, and see how it go.
You should do this for the new laptop you are going to buy as well (i.e. keep it dust free, otherwise the same heat up problem will happen).
As long as the laptop has HDMI port, you can connect it to HDTV to watch 1080p movies. Intel HD 4000 IGPU can handle 1080p well.
"nothing smaller than 13" " - that mean 13" is ok right?
