The Lenovo Y500 is the one to go for, leaving you with plenty of money left to upgrade to a SSD (which last longer than conventional HDDs).. Use also the remaining budget to extend the warranty to 3 years (that's the maximum already unfortunately).. The rest is up to you to take good care of it so that it lasts 5 years  icon_rolleyes.gif

The G55Vw is better than the Y500 in terms of graphic processing power if the Y500 is only running on the single GT650M. Howeverm when you put the 2nd GT650M GPU in, then it will significantly outperform the GTX660M in the Asus.
The Y500 is cheaper too  tongue.gif

I play games such as Dota2, CS:GO, BO2, etc.. , is 4GB of RAM enough ? Or can i upgrade it myself later on..?
oh and the 2nd GPU also comes with it when i buy the laptop too right?
really sorry for being long winded sweat.gif cause i have to buy either one tomorrow as my old one spoilt

Gaming performance depends on the graphic card more nod.gif
If you have money to spare... Upgrade to 8gb.. Otherwise... 4gb is good icon_rolleyes.gif
Yeah... The external gpu comes along with the notebook + a larger power adapter ~

1. Preferred Brand : Preferable Lenovo, Dell and Toshiba
2. Budget: About RM2k
3. Usage: reading, doing assignment, surfing, watching movie and listening songs
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14 or 15 inch

Reliability is the most important factor for me. Not to concern about the weight of the laptop.

Thanks sifu.

Not a tech wizz but since you mentioned about reliability, i take after-sales service into account. Lenovo's customer service is plain...terrible.

Went to service centre because of faulty wireless card.
Asked whether can give immediate service or not since i've already identified the problem and in need to use the laptop. Receptionist didt even bother to help asking their technicians.

Then still nvm, i also wanted to upgrade my HDD from 500GB to 1TB. They keep on redirecting me to one department to another, very irresponsible. At last they just tell me to go back to my reseller for upgrade.

Called my reseller, they say Lenovo only told them they reserve to right to upright RAM for their customers only.

My system also cant detect 2nd GPU, didt bother asking for their help alrdy, instead i posted a new thread asking help from forumers. 4 days already yet hvnt get my computer yet shakehead.gif

Still dell's aftersales service better
