My advise is to use credit card for shopping as much as possible. Requires you to discipline (don't simply buy), but if you take the cash that you would have spent anyway and keep in maybank2u savers-i, you'll get 2.1% interest for the 20-40+ days 'free loan' that you get from your credit card, in addition to the 5x points and/or 5% cash-back.

But of course if you're the sort that if using cash by RM30 stuff and use credit card buy RM60 then better you don't have CC at all la.....

ya, use credit card for shopping as much as possible. thumbup.gif

I always ask for credit card payment even buy a thing less than RM10 like place of Tesco.

Some shop there have set minimum speeding only can use for credit card payment, but I always will ask for it before use cash, this is good to earn point from there even RM1 = 1 point (MBB2 Visa/Master)

i applied for the maybank 2 card last year to get points and the 5% cashback. but after a few months, i realized for weekend spend, i only got the 5% cashback and not the points.

so i called the customer service and they told me weekends we don't get points, just cashback. with cap of rm50 per month, if i spent more than RM3000 on weekends that month, i only get 5% on the first rm1000. the other rm2000 burn. no points, no cash.

but a lot of ppl in this forum say got the 5x points on weekends too... hmm.gif betul ke ni?

Really?

if not mistaken, the last time I ask, they charge 2% for people who swipe card.

Last week I asked best price for a particular GPU, then they ask by cash or card, I was curious why then they said by cash cheaper, by card got that 2% charge.

Wonder does Viewnet do the same..

Bought portable DVD writer in Ikano - swipe with MBB2Amex, no charge.

Bought LCD monitor in Digital Mall - card got charge, so paid by cash.

Wanna ask,if some shop required 2-3% charges when using cc,is that reasonable?i heard my frenz said, bank charged the shop, then the shop charged us,but not every shop charged their customers..

my opinion is that if that shop is offering really low price for the product you're purchasing then 2-3% charge is fine.
also if its those small shops or self owned business, they're surely going to charge you for using card

As I remember, there is a min amount of RM50 using credit card in All IT..

If you buying with original price which stated on the price list, there will be no additional charge when using credit card..but if you paying by cash, they might giving discount for you.. wink.gif

Yup, they accept. I just bought something last month from there...

they charge extra 2% but that is nothing since we get back 7.5%

i saw they calculate the 2% amount manually using calculator, then tell u the additional amount for each item then manually input the amount into the cash register.
